TIAL BOV leaking
TIAL BOV leaking
I had my hood off and went for a drive today. I could here the bov opening up arouund 20 PSI. What or where is the best place to get a bigger spring and what spring is in it from factory? I cant find many places that sell the springs.
Thanks

Depends on when you purchased it. They started with something around 14, then 10, and now I believe they sell them with 7s. You can get them from Tial directly. Where do you have the bov vaccum line connected to the manifold? I have a 7 and haven't had a problem with it up to 16psi. Remember, under boost the top part of the BOV is pressurized + you have the mechanical spring. I think it would be difficult for the valve to be pushed open as long as the point you're drawing air from is at approximately the same pressure as the pipe the bov is connected to.

Just take the BOV off from the pipe and take it apart. Once it's apart do a good inspection on the condition of the diaphram. Hopefully you won't find anything torn. After that inspect the spring. If it's not either one of those then I'm not sure where I would look next.

where are you getting your pressure source? Most it to the turbo outlet if you have a nipple. Or thread in a nipple into a IC pipe. If your bov is between the turbo and IC you need to get the pressure source from that same area because your going ot have pressure drop across the ic core. Your pressure after the IC is going to be lower than before the IC and if you have a restrictive core or your getting close to maxing it then you could have huge pressure drop thru the core.
