thoughts on a Garrett T-68

hi guys,

what are your thoughts on this turbo listed on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7912759425

seems pretty impressive .... is it suitable?

it is to go on a ported S6 13bt rew and looking around 400+rwhp at 15psi

cheers

G

I'm no expert here, but I do know a few things... so...

I haven't looked much at the compressor map yet, but two things that jump out at me right away are that the turbo is oil cooled only it seems which isn't the greatest for a street car if you ask me... and the turbine a/r is 1.54 which will take forever to spool.

I think there are much better picks out there and unless you really want to be an experimenter, pass on this one.

Ahh, he says "There is no compressor map available, but it is sized between a T68 and a T70"... this is making it hard to figure out exactly what you're getting... unless you know of someone else with the same setup making good power at boost levels you want.. I'd definitely pass.

I've never heard of a Garrett T68. Is it a traditional design? Doesn't Turbonetics make its own versions of these turbos?

Skip it, there are tons of reasonably priced turbos that will make 350-400 properly tuned, and supported. Carl

I'd rather go with a PT67 it's a much better turbo IMO.
