Thoughts about this fuel setup please

I am currently putting my seven back together again after alot of expense in new goodies. I am going to be running 1600 secondaries and 850 primaries. I have a sard regulator and a walbro intank with stock fuel lines. I am wanting to have safe fuel to support 550 rwhp with out starvation. I am wanting to make a 2 liter surge tank that will be fed by the walbro, which then supplies maybe an aeromotive a1000 going true parrallel to the primary and secondary rails, I will tie in the fpr in between the primary and secondary and do the return back to the top of the surge tank.

I have a couple of questions on what everyone would think best. Is the A1000 enough, will the walbro be enough to feed the surge tank? Can I feed the surge tank with the factory lines?

Any input would be appreciated. My last engine died because of detonation and I now want to go overkill on this since I have spent alot more time and money on more go fast goodies.

All that just seems unnecessary for the power you want. Just keep it simple, dual supra pumps or similar, and either run two lines in parallel or Y them together to a single line to the rails, regulator, inline fuel filter for ease of change, and you are done.

Fuel system

I really don't want to deal with a pump failure or fuel being sloshed in the tank creating a lean condition. With dual pumps I would be affraid of one going bad and killing my motor. I have alot in my new engine and really don't want to chance anything this time.

Doubt you would have a lean condition with fuel being sloshed around as I am sure you dont run your cars gas that low, and I wouldnt think you would be running that kind of boost around corners at 550 hp, well, unless you do, haha.

As far as the one pump going bad, there is that possibility, but highly doubtful if you use a good new nippon denso pump, I run 280lph denso pumps, havent had a failure yet, also many others have had good luck as well with them. How much are you gonig to be using this car at those hp levels, just in drag racing?
I have a good amount of money in my car, but I try not to worry about stuff like that, because anything can happen at any time, you know. Good luck with your decision and setup man

fuel

I am wanting it to support 550 levels but don't think I plan on going above 450 at the moment. I have a t66 turbonetics and would like to run it around 15-16psi occasionally and don't want to run a risk.

If you want to run around 450 or only 16 lbs, then a single supra pump will be just fine, but yes, if you want to support 550 then you will need more.

Dustin, we are both in similar situations. I am changing my setup around and will be adding another nippo pump. Like mentioned above. If you need a walbro I will sell you mine cheap. I am trying to set up a pizza 7 meet before the dyno so we all can meet. mike

Walbro will be enough to feed the A1000 if you run the return through the surge, not directly back to the fuel tank.

I agree with BLitzed33 no need for it unless your concerned with doing some serious track time. Just keep an eye on your fuel level.

Since you already have one walbro, just go dual walbros.
