I gotta hand it to you. They're alot more work than I imagined. I can totally understand why you charge what you charge.

I somewhat finished mine and it totally kicked my ***. Mine isn't even as complicated of 99% of the ones I've seen either.

Still needs some cleaning up, need to grind down some welds etc. etc. etc. 25 inch primaries. 2.25 od.

I think my eye ***** are sunburnt.

First picture is before welding it together. Packing tape came in useful.

Looks very good, better than i could probably do myself.

Care to elaborate on how you did it? or was it just, measure, remeasure, cut 3 times and tack?

No special science in it, atleast not the way I did it. I basically just made the jig, sat it on my workbench and stared at it for a few days. Then I started moving my uncut bends and pipes around until I finally decided on a game plan. Then I just started cutting the pipes, I used hose clamps around the pipes so I made sure to cut the bends square.

Using a chop saw and mig welder fricking sucks though. There's so much time in de-burring cut pipes and cleaning up mig welds.

If I were to do this for a living, I can see using a high dollar chop saw/blade combo or band saw. And, def a tig.

Good question. I'm going to buy a sharp radius 90 and see if I can work some magic with it. If I can't I'll buy a high dollar 5 inch donut. I still plan on running the downpipe in the traditional place.

Question, where the two tubes go into the T6 flange. I can't get a weld in between the two tubes. I'm afraid that if I try, I'll just make a huge mess. The two tubes are just so close together.

I have been told for the best strength you should weld on the inside and have only a few short tacks evenly spaces on the outside.

Alright, well I have that covered then. I'll have the turbo supported by a brace anyhow.

I still need to make one. I'll probably use a few rodends to compensate for movement of the SS.

That turbo location just screams for a fender exit exhaust, but the body looks to nice to do that to it.

Yep, you knew I was going to do that !

The tubing is 304, the wire is 308 .025 and 75/25 gas. I don't have any pictures of my welds. They were ugly, that's why I got wore out from all the grinding.

They looked somewhat like these pictures. Someone was showing me what he's done with his 135 amp welder. These welds were made with his Hobart 135 on setting 3 for heat and about 35 for wire speed. He used 75/25 gas and 308L .025 SS wire.

I figured after your first bead you would decide against it and have it tiged.

That second weld doesn't look too bad, as long as yours are at least that good your turbo won't fall off and get wedged under your rear tire killing you in a most inhumane way.

I'm pretty hard headed so once I get my **** wet, I usually finish her off. Most of the welds were like the wnd picture but not as straight. Probably shouldn't have loaded up on the ephedrine before hand. But I did get some shitty spatter but that was because I kep pulling my gun back. I really need to take a welding class.

but uh.............. I'll tie a safetey rope to it just in case it falls off the car

No, I used solarflux on the inside, though.
