Well I have been dreading asking this question because of possible flamage but here goes....

What trubos/suppliers are close to the same size as the T78.

Its going on a s4 TII. And yes I know what I need to run a turbo that big. My question is mainly can I get a better priced turbo that is pretty much the same size.

I know most of you guys are 3rd gen but can you help an oldschool guy out...

The T-66 would be pretty close, you can get a T-78 seperate from some suppliers. The T04R would also be close, which is a Garrett turbo.

 

Majestic turbo commented that the T66 was virtually the identical turbo and that the T78 "moniker" was essentially a sales pitch.
