t04e what to expect
t04e what to expect
i was given a garrett t04e with a t4 1.00 a/r hotside and a .50 a/r cold. I was wondering what to expect if i was going to run it on a stock ported s4 t2. the part number tag says t04e17 if that helps at all. i think its too small but want to know what it can do anyways. i did search but only found the t04e with the 57 and 60 a/r compressors.
54 trim?

11psi was 280rwhp, later made 350rwhp @ 15psi, and 400rwhp @ 23psi
15/23psi were with a lot of pre turbo meth

Yep that's the older t04e turbo I used to have on one of my cars the newer 1.15 with a bigger front wheel too is a little slower to spool but makes a lot more power.
T04Es are awesome turbos and that particular one is probably the best overall street/track turbo made for the rotaries IMO.
In a 3rd gen it'll make 330 at 10 psi (370 at 16 psi) with a good tune. The 1.15 (newer version) will make close to 340 at 8 psi (380 at 15 psi). Also I have a manual controller on my car so the boost drops off significantly on the top side so if I was able to maintain the boost all the way out it would make a lot more power. For a little turbo it's AWESOME!!!
Neither turbo looses power on the top side because of the big back side AR which is really important for road racing.

I would still do a/i for safty as gas quality cant always be trusted.
I have got stuck a few times where i could only find 89 octane its comforting knowing you have that safety barrier

Currently I am running 15 psi on my TO4E. 93 octane, no meth. Last dyno I made 330 rwhp. I was running a little rich, so I didn't mind.
