depending on what exhaust trim.

t78 has a huge compressor and small turbine, whereas to4r has a large turbine and large compressor

The T78 is bigger, and I would go with the big 1.

they both suck. had both. if you want a good street turbo go with t78 . its sound big but its not. if anyone talks about laggggggggg. they just need to learn how to drive. it comes in write when your coming out of a turn. but greedy turbos are the such junk . just get a good tune on it . to4e has no as behind it .

It all comes down to what your looking to get out of the car. You want more power at 15psi on pump or more power at 30psi on C116? If your building a street car, the T78 is a good blend of both. You can make low to mid 400s on pump and upper 500's on C16.

Like Zero R said in your double post. What's your setup and what do you plan on doing with the car? You pick the turbo for you specific application. You don't just say, "that one looks good".

I'm running a HKS T04R, and i really like. Full boost about 3800~4000 rpms, pulls really hard. IMO this is a streetable turbo.

Im running a 1.15 A/R

I have seen both do 500 rwhp in person on a dynopak...Both very good turbos, its a tough choice between the 2.. I think getting the To4r rebuilt might be a bit easier in North America...Max

to4r here and lag aint that bad the t78 was my first choice but got a better deal on the to4r so I went that route..either way they are both good turbos..I am running 375 at 13 lbs of boost to the wheels..plenty for me so I just run it with the boost controller off and runing about 10lbs off the wastegate...

Both are great turbos. I've got the t-78 running 14psi on stock ports getting about 380rwhp.
The lag on the t-78 is highly overrated i get my boost fast but mine is upgraded so it does spool up a lil faster than a normal t-78.
This turbo on race gas can lay down 500 with a ported motor easy @ around 19psi.

How did you do to upgrde your T-78? I am just in the middle of removing my motor and want to upgrade my turbo at the same time.
