ran pretty similar numbers on same turbo the other day at PRT Performance/Steve Kan’s shop.
Built and tuned by strokercharged95GT (see post #38 this thread); a 2004 RX8 with 13B-REW BP conversion that I bought from him not too long ago. First time it’s ever been on a dyno, he just set it up from tuning logs on the street and these were some initial shakedown runs on the 10 psi 50mm WG spring pressure that creeps up to around 17-18 psig. Has a 100% home built in his garage forward high mount, 369SXE 1.01 A/R, old Adaptronic Select piggybacked on the factory RX8 ecu, Excessive LIM, IGN-1A, E40-50ish fuel, 3.5” exhaust, AI but with 22 psi setpoint, Spec 7.25” twin disc, RX8 version of the FD 5-spd, and 4.444 rear gear.
The numbers I saw on the Mustang dyno were 450+ whp, but for some reason the printout was in estimated Dynojet whp ranging 501 - 512 whp for 3 runs. It was late in the afternoon around 100°F and pretty humid. A bit lazy down low with the WG uncontrolled, but planning to go back soon for some higher boost runs just to document as a final baseline for how Stroker built it. Presently fuel system/boost limited to around 27 psi max. Which it’s been run at 25 psi, though with WG duty cycle pulled back below 5500 rpm to keep from blowing out the transmission.
Mostly posting this up to give Stroker his due, don’t think the guys on RX8Club fully recognized his talent and ability. The engine should have blown up long ago by most standards given some unexpected issues along the way, but it just won’t it seems no matter what it comes up against. Work has been crazy busy and I’ve only driven it flat out once so far, but it flies without any drama other than the usual BP low rpm fussiness and noise. It otherwise is solid with all the parameters where they should be. I’ll post up whatever the final results are.
It seems Kevin hasn’t been around much, was hoping to see where he ended up with the new engine mentioned in his subsequent 719 whp thread after he cranked it up to 30 psi and maxed out the turbo. I don’t have those kind of high hp aspirations though. Eventually this will be transitioned to a non-BP motor with turbo sized more for low rpm response/acceleration (Stroker previously had a BW 362SXE 0.91 on it), stronger transmission, aftermarket ecu, etc.

Very nice, I absolutely love this car. Have been a fan of your work for quite a while.
I remember watching videos of your blue FB, Directfreaks FB, and later on Viking War Hammers build. These were huge inspiration for me, hope I can finally build something in the ballpark of these awesome machines.
Cheers,
Alex
