Naturally Aspirated Performance ForumDiscussion of naturally-aspirated rotary performance. No Power Adders, only pure rotary power!

After a long build
I finally got to the Dyno today, there was a plethora of problems but I got a couple solid pulls, the dyno ignition pick up kept getting interference so I couldn't get an RPM or torque graph, the second pull the throttle stuck so she kissed 9200rpm for a second, and on the third pull the drivers rear tire blew -_- if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck. She peaked at 172 hp @ 6700rpm which with the stock intake I expected, I did some calculations with the speed and and found the RPMs from the gear ratio and tire diameter to get rpms at the different speeds, so I drew in a rough tourque graph with labels.
so it looks like 139ft/lbs from 5850-6400 rpm
the first pull was done with the aux ports opening at 4500. the second at 3500.and the final locked open all the way. there is a considerable horsepower difference between the open and closed and after doing the torque math I'm going to open the ports at 5300 from now. As it peaks at 136ft/lbs@4200 then when the ports open falls back Down until 5300 when it hits 136 again.

Looks pretty good to me, pretty flat torque curve!
The effect of the aux ports looks small on the dyno :-) Although you'd probably notice it really well on the street.
Now it needs a better intake to keep that torque up a couple thousand rpm!
Moving the opening from 3.5 to 4.5 was like night and day drivability wise, now moving to to 5.3 I can definitely tell it has more. I have another trick to play with the intake to shorten the secondary runners 3" that should help push the power out longer without hurting low end
It appears your torque and HP both pickup just before the 3650 RPM line. Secondaries opening? Maybe open them sooner, it looks as if the engine wants it.
looks like you're losing power after the secondaries kick in, plus power peaks same as stock. it almost seems like the bridge is hurting your power.
I agree, like I said looking at the torque graph the the aux ports aren't needed until 5300 to keep the power and Torque up. the power peak is likely from the stock S-4 intake, I'm going to shorten up the secondary runnersand see what that does do the peak. it also doesn't help that when it comes to tuning I'm just kind of shooting from the hip, I'm coming from the turbo 3000 GT world, so I've just been reading the kind of trying to see what the rotaries want from fuel and timing
