Actually Ralph at Ground Zero Motorsports claims to have 700hp. He's running over 30psi though. It is streetable but that could mean anything. I don't know what turbo he has but I would think running 700hp the last thing to worry about is the turbo.

Streetable is a very subjective and personal term. What is streetable to one person is unacceptable for another.

But 800hp 13b is NOT streetable by anyones standards. I forget the 400hp (i think it was 400) that i got to take for a spin and it was about at the limit I think.

The most HP you can possibly use on the street on street tires is around 500. Anything more than that and you'll not be able to keep tires under it. A T66, and a good drag streetport will get you around 500 rwhp. Course with that comes all the fuel system upgrade, computer upgrade, intercooler upgrade, BOV, Wastegate, manifold, ect. Your looking at 10k + for a rebuild with reliable, streetable 500 rwhp.

For that kind of money you could have 800+ whp in a late model supra.

Try shooting for an ET, not a horsepower number. RX-7s are all about light weight, not so much about raw power. 800rwhp in an RX-7 is not the same as 800rwhp in a Supra. Most professional rotary drag cars don't make that much power.

*sigh*

some of these guys are right. to make 800hp is alot of money..

but lemme give you a little hint.. Supra's use T88H (from Greddy ) ... to make their big power.. now..
Convert that turbo some how for the Rx7 . and you have a Turbo that can Produce 1,000+ hp

also...
alcohol Injection.. and race gas..
is probly the fuel you will be using.

and motor.. Ceramic Seals with GT porting.
( for those of you that dont know.
GT porting is the porting they used at laman's
that Crazy 787B. you want GT porting..
gonna cost you a arm and a leg. talk to Pettit Racing
Kameron is your man you wanna talk to )

your Ceramics can take up to 30 PSI of boost.
just make sure everything in your engine is aftermarket.

you got any more info ? shoot me a pm will be happy to answer.

800 rwhp FD...Yikes! the only way thats getting to the drag strip is on the back of a trailer.

400 rwhp is MORE than enough for street use...

What kind of quarter mile times do you put out with that setup?

Also how well is your engine holding up with that muh power? Does your car break down a lot or give you problems in general?

Lightbulb

maybe a more important question is:
why do you need 800 hp?

what are your goals with the car, dyno-queen?
10 second slips? street racing grand-nationals?

I'd say learn to controll 200 RWHP, I know it's been an education for me
<------
Then lets's talk about 400 and then maybe wghen you get your NHRA license we'll talk about 800 in an RX7....

Dunno. Haven't made it to the drag strip. SPOAutos ran a 12.3 at 125mph on street tires and pump gas with a similar setup.

Engine holding up well at 17psi. Of course, I haven't been able to drive it too much in the last year due to that pesky war........

...

Streetable and 800hp are mutually exclusive on a rotary in my opinion.

PS
1st- you spend 40 large to get 800whp and fry clutch
2nd- a 6puck and you blow diff
3rd- put kaaz in and tweak an axel
4th- chromoly axels and you blow tranny
5th jerico tranny and you explode flywheel. You lose
your right foot bacause you forgot a scatter shield.
6th- you marry the hot lady orthopod who did the
surgery.
7th-she buys you a Pagani Zonda and you eventually
loose it doing 200mph because your prosthetic
foot got stuck on the throttle.

Hey Andy, stay away from the nitrous bottles at Roberts shop. Are you sharing that nitrous with your car again

What is the goal of 800hp? Obviously you don't plan on autocross, but someone else mentioned before that it is easier to build a car toward a specific time target, not horsepower target. Whether you are 1/4 mile racing or trying to set a land speed record, you should know what class you fall into and what is a competitive E.T. for that class. Also, when you race legit and not on the street like some hollywood movie, the class you fall into will usually have some sort of rules that will limit the amount of modifications you can do to the engine/car/suspension. Most classes will preclude you from doing anything to put your car at 800hp. In my opinion, competiting is fun, even if you are only making 200hp but thats just my .02 cents.

guys, those of you who made reference to fast and the furious, made me laugh harder than I've lauphed in at least the last 13 minutes. I've always thought that movie was rediculus, but i never thought hard about it. why the hell did his floorboards start shooting sparks and fall off????? i just thought that was hilarious. and buddy, 800 horsepower is possible, i had an 800 hp fd3s in GT3 for playstation 2. Just get the stage 3 pistons, and 500,000$ paintjob. Come on guys, its possible!
