hey i have one for sale for the FD if anyone wants it. Flanges are flat. 7/16" turbo and w/g flanges, 1/2" engine flange. It's their newest model, and has never been used, just bolted it on along with a turbo to see how it lined up, so I can tell you that the turbo and engine bolt holes line up just fine and are flat. $90 shipped

Can you show us some good pictures? I'm just wondering if they changed the shape of their turbo flange's ports, from the half-moonish type shown on their earlier pictures to the rectangular ones shown on their later pictures.

Mine has the crescent shaped holes. Actually the only ones i've ever seen with the rectangular ones are the old ones of the manifold "installed". They still use them today in their listing of the crescent shaped ones.

Darn, I thought it was the other way around. Why would they do the ports that way? I don't know of any T4 flanged turbo that comes with anything other than rectangular ports.

it's easier to get the pipes lined up that way.

they didn't. the holes were probably perfect BEFORE the flange warped when they welded it. but small price to pay for a <$200 manifold.

no actually I've seen them so off square they could never have been drilled straight. Like if you put studs in them they would all come out straight, but only 3 of them ar at the corners of a rectangle.

Liek you said though, these are all things that can easily be fixed with the money you save.

Since it's already been bumped...

I've been running a SSAutochrome manifold on my half-bridgeported FD since April. Approx. 5K miles have been put on the setup, including a recent track day at Willow Springs (4, 30 minute sessions) and my cheap manifold has held up fine. I do have some complaints about it, one I had to modify the bolt holes for the wastegate, and two its a VERY tight fit in the engine bay. The wastegate is almost touching the engine mount and it takes some finesse getting the manifold bolted up. But those are hardly horrible, and overall I'm happy with the manifold. If it cracks, I'll buy another.

^agreed...except I probably wouldn't buy another...I think spool and power could be better.

Just got mine. First thoughts, WELL worth the money. Put a strait edge on the flanges and they are strait. IF the mounting holes line up with motor and turbo??? Have not tried that yet. But if I have to enlarge the mounting hole, it's still worth the money.

You can see in the photos that SSAC are putting the flanges on a sander after they finish welding it.

Have to add this about SSAC. there service is excellent. I've bought a few things from them and they always ship fast. Paid for this Nov 19 and my zip is 96326 apo

chuck
I'd buy another one!!

Turbo to manifold mounting= three bolts lined up, one was not tapped strait. I used a 5/16 bolt and nut on that mounting hole. Used the three supplied 3/8 bolts on the others.

Manifold to motor= bolted right up. Looks like SSAC enlarged these hole.

Wastegate to manifold= three holes lined up. Going to have to enlarge the 4th one and use a nut and bolt.

Maybe in two weeks I will have this thing on the car.
