A-Spec or RX7 Store GT35R Turbo KIt??

Please help. Need a single turbo ASAP. I'm confused between the 2 kits offered. Both look nice, and both companies offer 2 different manifolds too! Question is, which would you choose and why?

I'm also at a loss of which size housing to get. I have seen from .70 to 1.06 and more. This is not a track car, or drag racing machine. Overall streetability is more important then all out HP numbers.
Please help, i must get this ordered monday!

Your feedback is GREATLY appreciated.

Either setup is going to meet your needs. We only have the .80 exhaust side in stock as we have been waiting on the 1.06 for a while.

I have T3 undivided setup with 1.06 hotside, considering to buy 0.82 hotside and try it out (might be better for drifting)

I don't know what kind o boost you want to run, but you might want to check out the A-spec 500R, which is a modified 35R.

the 500r looks pretty sweet, same hp capability of the gt40 but the spool up time of the gt35, im waiting to see a dyno on it. Bit expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I think he'll start once he gets caught up. Atleast that's how I took his statement in the 500R thread, in the A-spec section.

^^^ Was my first choice..
A Spec cant sell you one because of parts on backorder.
Works great for demand..you cant buy it,makes it more valuble.
I tried to give Shaun a deposit a few weeks ago and to his credit would not take it and I,m paraphrasing here "because I dont know when the wastegates/Garrett parts will be here"
I would hope they would treat other people better than the few times I was on the phone with them,it bothers s me that they did,nt do their follow up,I,m going to spend almost 4 grand for crying out loud.
Ultimately Its frustrating that WE have a great product BUT we can sell it to you ???? a little customer service keeping people in the loop would go a long way here.

i asked them about buying a t4 hotside fro my 35r last year and got a really rude response. they've got good stuff, and they KNOW it! but all things being equal, i prefer to give my business to nice people. unfortunately, sometimes there isn't much alternative.

i bet a 4088r with the .95 hot side would be close enough to the 500r though.

You should try getting a hold of sean again, I was in his shop about 2 weeeks ago and they had just got their wastegates in. I know sean has been busier than hell trying to get the backordered kits out the door, give them some time to catch up. He told me that from deposit its about a 4 week wait, keep in mind that this was a guestimate too. I've never had a problem with A-spec on the phone except that they don't always answer but like I said they are busy people. Their customer service is far greater than some of the other vendors on this board.

There is a video fo a few dyno runs of it in the 500r thread I think. There was also a dyno sheet floating around of it doing 500rwhp at 20psi too.

To the original thread starter, I'd go with an A-spec unit over the rx7store ones simply because A-spec gives a lifetime warranty on ALL of their manifolds. Where as rx7store only does with their *upgrade* kits.

Thanks for all the input. Jason from RX7Store wrote back to me, and i believe i'll be going with his upgraded manifold kit. I still am not sure what size to get, but i'm sure he can help with that. The A-spec 500R does look great, but with spring arriving here in PA, waiting 4 to 5 weeks for a kit, another week for piping and installing, and then getting it in for tuning, is gonna take much more of my driving season away then i would prefer. May to September is all i get here, so days off the road are precious to me. I may just sell the GT35 later when the 500R's are available by themselves.

Jason tells me he has all the parts in stock, if so, he'll get my business.
What is the recommended size of the injectors for this turbo. Will be running a PFC. Looking for 400 HP more or less.

Thanks
Shane

850cc primaries and 1680cc secondaries are always a safe bet for injector size.

On the debate of which kit to go with, I would recommend the A-Spec kit as well. I have never seen better quality in an exhaust manifold. And the lifetime warranty as well as their great customer service are hard to beat! Just my .02
