as ive personally seen them, they are quite "stout" units if i remember correctly the main flange is about 5/8" thick and the piping is quite thick. i havent seen a cracked one

A cracked manifold from A-Spec is the last thing you'll have to worry about. Besides, even if it did crack it wouldn't matter. They have a lifetime guarantee on their manifolds and downpipes. And from the examples I have seen, they make some of the best manifolds out there.

I think I'll actually run this one. It looks like it has better welds, and he can do a really nice thermal coating. I'm going to order it and I'll let you know how it turns out.
This is where I'm getting it from

Srry for jacking your thread, this manifold just looks/seems a little better.

Umm...ok what you said makes no sense....the first pic i posted shows welds....and here is a close up of his welds....it looks like a freaking machine did it. Besides that those are Heli-arc welds, why would you ever grind Heli-arc welds?

You said it "looks like" it has better welds and is coated than the manifold in question "A-specs" I said really that's odd since the welds are ground down, ie can't see them to compare, and it is coated in the only pic of the manifold in question "A-specs" Seems pretty clear to me. So what were you comparing to then?
Here is a pic of my welds then what's the point I could put up tons of pics of pretty welds. I grind off some of the welds for a cleaner appearence it hurts nothing. How much experience welding do you have? Pretty welds aren't necessarily strong ones. Not saying those aren't strong. Just people in general think because it looks good it must be good. I would tell him you want a thicker base flange if possible.

That makes no sense. When you TIG SS, Ti, etc. basically all DC. You use 100% argon. Helium is used for some aluminum welding operations where you are tring to get the weld hotter. When you weld SS, you dont want a ton of heat into the work, thats why helium is not used. You have mis used the term Heliarc, that reference is a term used for doing weld build ups on aluminum. VW guys do it to their intake manifolds, they weld aluminum bead all over the outsides of their intake manifolds, then port the **** out the insides. After its done, they look like driping candle wax, thats what heli-arcing is.

Silverrotor, you can PM ZeroR for the FC manifold pricing. I knew it, but can't remember it, so I don't want to quote you the wrong price. I do remember it being a great price for a manifold with a lifetime warranty though.
