Have you thought about cutting the inlet to the IC 180 Degrees so the inlet faces the turbo? This would delete a lot of un-necessary piping. It would also improve response as far as performance goes.. I have the same Greddy IC i'll be hacking it up and doing a custom set-up as well.

I thought about it, but I do have a new IC core that is a bit narrower I plan on installing later so I can deal with for now, plus I have the inlet piping for the stock twins and plan on selling the current one as a kit once I get the new one installed.

If you plan on modifying you in/out on the Greddy I suggest that you completely discard the OE cast ells and just weld in new ones

I had the same greddy core with the same wonky endtanks. I ended up cutting them off, getting new tanks and welding in the in/out in the direction I wanted. I'll see if I can dig up a picture. The pipe from the turbo to the inlet was like six inches lol.

Does the irregular appropriation of the garrett GT nomenclature of these turbos irritate anyone else.

Surely if you are going to copy turbine stage/compressor exducer naming practice you would call these a P-82 or 7482 no?

it uses a gt35 compressor with a 74mm tubine, name seems appropriate

Except GT35 reffers to turbine. If we apply Garretts nomenclature, such label would indicate turbo with GT35 hotside and unknown compressor with 74mm exducer.

This point is moot as IIRC GT35 frame has only one compressor available. Even GTX is labeled as 3582R even though compressor dimensions are quite different

As above, GT35 is the turbine. Garrett does different versions of the 82mm exducer compressor (like one of the GT4082 combos) although the off the shelf GT3582 is only available in one wheel spec. Point being the so called 3574 has nothing 35 about it, just one of the 82mm exducer compressor wheels trims avaiable which happens to be offered on the 35 turbine as an off the shelf unit.

Consider this, some of the guys who hav fitted T66 (88mm exducer compressor, not a good combination on a rotary) to the GT35 turbine, is it now a GT3588 / GT35t66 (which provides information on both turbine & compressor) or a T-66-82 (with no turbine reference, just two compressor specs because given the logic of 3574 that would make sense, right?).

Just think about the GT28/30/37/40 combinations, numerous compressors which cannot be described by that turbine descritpor as they overlap eachother and you wouldn't know what you had.

interesting, so where does garrett get the "35" from? just trying to understand here.

from garrett's catalogue:

GT3582R
comp ind: 61.4mm
comp exd: 82.0mm
trim: 56

turbine dia: 68mm
trim: 84

GTX3582R
comp ind: 62.5mm
comp exd: 82.5mm
trim: 58

turbine dia: 68mm
trim: 84

The turbine descriptor numbers are just what someone at garrett decided sounds good so far as I can work out. Just like there is no real technical reason for O or P trim to be what they are. No different to the mitsubishi turbos being TD04/5/6 etc, doesn't correspond directly to a particular measurement.
