Smoke under WOT R85

I replaced my return line with a SS line, and after that I have had issues with smoke under WOT. If I don't baby it and get on the throttle a lot I don't notice any smoke, but if i baby it then get on it, I notice a puff of blue smoke. What do you guys think?
Motor is a fresh rebuild with about 6k on it.

maybe the inner diameter is not big enough or is routed in a way that it impeeds flow(angle not steep enough) you need to have good flow in order to keep the oil from backing up in the turbo and coming out of the rear seal.

Make sure that there's no clog in the return line. If there's a kink or debris in the line the oil pressure will be forced out past the rings in the turbo.
Please also run a catch can and eliminate the pcv valve...

yeah stainless hose is less flexible than rubber. And you need the line to come off the bottom of the turbo to the front cover at a steady angle, no dips. Thus the 10AN line (you did do 10AN right?) needs to be cut to a very precise length. Making an oil return line is a very tedious process.

The R85 is a journal bearing turbo. They tend to have "higher" oil pressure. Ball bearing turbos call for a .065" oil restrictor and journal based cartridges call for .1"- .125". Typically you should just contact your supplier as they can recommend various sizes.

The PCV valve removal is a simple procedure. The oil filler neck is tapped with ports. One is facing downward and one is facing the passenger side strut tower. The PCV valve is on the one facing the the passenger strut tower (Horizontally). Cap off the nipple that comes out of the UIM that connects the PCV to the oil filler neck. Next, you (should) buy a dual port catch can with a filter on the top. YOU MUST HAVE A FILTER TO VENT THE AIR PRESSURE OUT. If you fail to vent the pressure you'll be pressurizing the oil system and will blow blue (oil) smoke on deceleration. Now, the two ports on the filler neck just connect to the two ports on the oil catch can. That's it! LMK if you have any questions...

Ahhh your awesome bacon, I was searching all around the net on what people have used or done for a oil catch can. So many of them are not vented.
