The single is here!!

I just received my new single turbo, TO4R, 1.0 A/R divided housing. I am putting my own kit together and I was wondering what gets removed when I install the single turbo? I know the Air Pump and all emmissions controls are kaput, but what of all the solenoids, rats nest, and the like? Anyone who has done this before who could help me would be really awesome. Thanks a lot guys. I will post pics of the new turbo ASAP. Thanks again.

Does anyone know how much boost the 2mm seals will hold? I was only planning on running around 16psi until I rip the motor apart...again.

Demetrios runs over 30psi on them. Seals don't typically buckle because of boost, they break from detonation. Rebuilding your motor isn't going to make it less prone to damage from detonation. Ask zoomzoom, he has seen a motor or two....or three fail from detonation with less than 1,000 miles on the clock

I am only planning on running a large streetport, which will be complete in a few days and no more than 18psi, 15psi for daily driving. I hear the 2mm seals will hold this. My fuel system is also pretty beefed up to make sure detonation or fuel starvation do not rear their ugly heads. Again thanks for all the info guys, it's really helpful.

Do we have start another why you don't need 3mm seals thread? You don't need 3mm apex seals... they help only a marginal amount. Trust me I wouldn't boost 30 plus psi on my motor if I didn't trust 2mm apex seals, we've never had a problem with them. Considering my tuners race car runs 7's on 2 mm apex seals. But, you cannot deny the fact that 3mm do help with little detonation's or when you lean out a little. In those slight cases they do take a hit, and your motor will be fine... but it comes down to you realizing that the car needs to be tuned to save your motor. Sorry I started to go off on a tangent.

Not a problem to go off on a tangent. And to answer your question, no , we do not have to start another thread on 2mm vs. 3mm. If you read my post carefully, I was just curious what people had boosted the 2mm seals to. I personally am a fan of the 2mm, and see no point to 3mm seals. I will be taking care of the motor so detonation will not be a problem. Thanks for the info however, I was not aware that the 2mm have been boosted to 30 plus psi. Thanks for the info Alex. Take it easy.
