safe air temperatures

Can someone tell me what is the safe air temperature range?

On my 1st Gen I`m seeing 35- 40 celsius and on my 3rd Gen i`m seeing arround 40 - 60. Is their anything I can do without having to change my intercooler?

If your using a PFC your AIT's most likely are not accurate. The stock sensor does not change fast enough to see the change in temperature of boost. Not to mention is soaks under the LIM if that's where you have it located. I have GM open element sensors at the inlet and outlet of the IC temperatures. The stock sensor would never be close to the where the GM sensor would be during boost.

Thanks for the info... i have relocated the stock sensor but it stills give me the same reading.

I'll try the GM sensor and let you know

At the very end of a boosted run you will see temperatures in that area even with the best intercooler. I have seen temperatures at inlet of the IC of 148 C even with a 70% efficient intercooler you are going to see 50 C at the oulet of IC/intake temperature. Normal running temperatures you will depend on sensor, load, location of sensor, etc. With the stock sensor you will not see the max temperatures I see with the GM sensor. Also you cannot just swap out your stock sensor for the GM sensor. You have to datalog the sensor with an appropriate 5v circuit, then take the voltage against the GM sensors voltage/temperature curve.
