what do I need to beat sr20det?

hey guys...i tried doing some searches for the last 30 mins but i am not seeing what I need.
there is a guy here running a 1st gen (like me) but with a sr20det running 11.3secs. All the mazda guys hear is talk talk talk from him. I want to beat him for all rotary men!!!

I am currently running a t-72 with a 1.15qtrim backend on a 13b-re stock engine.
i want to run a flat 11 or maybe 10.9
so far I am making 350whp on a dynojet at 18psi.
i am running stock series5 ignition.
i am running a tsunami pump with 550x2 and 1600x2 injectors
do i need to change or upgrade anything? someone told me that if I am trying to make more power i should run a single bosch 044 or dual walbro 255's.
should i change my pump or injectors?
i am running 28x9x15 MT slicks with a 4.8 rear end.
how much hp do u think i need to make this happen? my car weighs about 2200lbs.
I would appreciate any help u guys can give me...thanks a lot guys..

Start by actually running at the track and seeing how you do. The best car in the world won't help a shitty driver, and all the horsepower in the world is worthless without traction.

350 @ 2200lbs w/ traction = low *** 11's. if you get around the 400rwhp mark and can launch and shift you will hit your 10's.

our drag car (crx) weighs 2000lbs and we only have 260whp and are running 7.3's in the 1/8th.

power to weight baby!

your injector setup is good for almost 500hp. do you log your fuel pressure? Easy way to know if you need to upgrade pumps is to log fo and see if the pressure is dropping off when it is not supposed to. If you are running out of pump i would suggest going to some meth injection and running much higher boost if your racing class permits it.

I would not be surprised if you were REALLY close to him with slicks. With rotarys its all depends on the driver though.

I like aluminum baseball bats...
The wooden ones usually break after a few swings.

two step, race gas and more boost if the turbo has anymore left in it. I think you will be really close to beating the guy, but like everyone said it's drag racing so traction and driving skill play a big role

11.3 is pretty ******* fast for a street car. Unless you're a drag racer, then you should already know what you need. You should learn some more about your car because its gonna take a pretty penny to run that fast.

What are you talking about? The guy already posted that he has a lightweight Turbo FB. I think he should know that's plenty. His MPH says he could get there, if it really weighs that light.

2200 is light as hell! Is that with driver?

My HP to weight is similar to yours. My car weighs 2440 with me in it. I am putting down 330 hp and ran a 11.26 @ 117. IMO the limit right now is your transmission and rear tire. It starts to get difficult to shift a stock trans fast at higher RPMs and you are going to have to launch hard to get in the low 11s with that power.

If you ran a 12.6 with a 2.8 short time then you shouldn't have a problem running a low 11 with a good launch. I usually 60' in the 1.6 range, if you can get your car to launch like that you would have run somewhere in the 11.4 range on your current setup. You got to launch it like it isn't yours.

^^^^hahahaha....ill try that mental technique 13B-RX3.
Directfreak....no my car alone weighs 2200lbs...it is a SA22C with complete fiberglass-work ie four fenders, bonnet, front fascia, no interior
ill throw some pics up...

13B-RX3, u making plenty sense...i am getting trouble shifting with the stock turbo2 tranny....rear tire i am working on....throwing on some MT slicks to shorten the 60ft time.....care to expatiate on your setup, eg final drive ratio, size of slicks, gearbox?
thanks.

I am running 4:89 final, 28X12.5 ET streets, and a Doug Nash pro shifted transmission.

What RPM are you launching at? You definitely making the power it is just going to be a matter of the launch and shifting. I don't know what can be done to help the TII trans shift better but i am sure there is something.

If you are running 122mph at the end of the quarter mile you should be running low 11s or even high 10s easy with better traction. A while ago I ran on drag radials 11.4 on a second gen (2900 lbs with no driver) at 120mph with 1.6 seconds on the first 60 feet.

It permits you have two different rev limiters. For example, you can have a 9000rpm rev limiter and a 7500rpm for launching. Normally it is activated with a button at the steering wheel.

13B-RX3...I am launching at about 6500..my problem was traction.
i see u arent suffering the same prob...28x12.5 is crazy rubber....damn!!
when i try the slicks, i will see where i need to launch at....prob a lot higher....what are u launching at?\
ismael....that gives me some confidence...i jus need to learn to drive and i guess I should be ok....i prolly will try to tune for a bit more power so that the car can assist me in attaining some good ets...

I launch at anywhere from 8500-10,000. I leave the line at about 8-9 PSI of boost. If you have traction the two step is your friend. As soon as i get my transmission back from getting repaired i should have some much more impressive numbers.

A 9" slick should be enough. Try it out and see how it works.
