Update....

Went to pick up the car today (catch-22 came along) and everything went well until my clutch pedal went to the floor and wouldnt come back up. Clutch has been bled and we were puzzled. Well come to find out the master cylinder wasnt even tightened to the firewall. Wowzer.. Catch-22 did the grunt work, thank you sir, and we got it on the road..

I drove it to Charlotte from Kannapolis to do a few minor things, bleed brakes, alignment, install gauges, balance wheels, etc. Some things got done, others didnt.

But i noticed that my low/high beans don't work... hmmmm.. but my flash to pass (pulling light switch) turn the lights on. Sooooo, i had to rig the lights to stay on for the ride home. Gotta fix that..

Other than that the car ran perfect. I got up to 5200 once, temps stayed at 87c or lower, and boost never went pass 0.11bar on my pfc commander.. I put 73 miles on the car in a few hours, and not really driving it for that, just the back and forth from shop to my house.. So i'm pleasd with the car so far. ANd boy does that turbo whine. WOW... From 2500 and up it just whistles. The car feels like it wants to fly, cant wait til i can boost it..

More pics and videos coming soon. Man what a day..... super smiley face..

+1.

Put some miles on the engine, change the oil and get it tune before you start thinking about raising the boost.

Come on fellas, im not that crazy. The car has seen no boost... ok maybe 0.11 reading on the pfc. Im not that crazy. I am driving the car and doing alot of gear changes to break in the clutch.

The car will be tuned by Rotorsports so no worries there. All my driving has been in the vacumn area. But i was saying that the turbo still whistles while just cruising.

Got 100 miles on the motor and turbo now. Again, car runs great, starts right up, no leaks, etc...

Thanks for all the concern guys. Trust me im baby-ing the car til Deals Gap.. Then.......... ***** TO THE WALL..... lol.. GO BIG OR GO HOME....

Wow surprised I didn't see this build sooner. Looks really good, sounds good too. I know it's so exciting resurrecting a car from the dead.

LOL... Dregg i love the fact you are busting my *****. Ok for the slower thinking people out there..

1. The car will be tuned this week for "some boosted runs" 8-10psi just to see how it holds up.

2. The comment about "***** TO THE WALL" I was meaning i am going to push the car to its limit after the Deals Gap Rally.. I wanna be there and enjoy the car. I'm not a racer and don't intend to drive like a *** at a mountain event. I use to drive trucks up there and i know the dangers. I'm 35 and got a son that loves his daddy. When we get done with that event i will boost the car above 25psi just to see what it does.

3. Everything on the car needs a upgrade! Brakes, fuel, motor, etc. I really wanted to get the car running and enjoy my first FD. And i absolutely love it. If business is good this year I WILL have a 20b.

4. You guys have been around FD longer than i have, and i REALLY appreciate the comments, concerns and everything else. And look forward to meeting all of the fellow rotor heads.. We can be weird at times.. and we all smell like gas....lol

I'm glad you're looking at my thread man. I have been following your work for a while now. Hell, you keep up the good work and i will do the same. Thanks for the sensor also! And i will be refering to your WI thread when i do my kit..

I bought the car in April 09, and it sat til oct 09, til i decided to get serious and get it done. So even tho it is a nice build, it is just a "get the car running and enjoy my first FD expierence"...

20b was always in the plan, but i got impatient. Bryan at Rotorsports has a super nice built 20b for sale sitting that he wanted me to get, but im not ready... Soon, and very soon.. lol..

Whats crazy is i haven't said anything bad about the car yet... OMG, wiring nightmare.. **** all over the place.. I'm not good at wiring.

Again thanks dudemaaanownsanrx7! And everyone else for checking out the car...

No problem and your welcome, glad the sensor is part of such a good build. Let me know if you have any questions when it comes time for the water.

Neal,
FYI-
the "map" installed in your car is a conservative version that has been used MANY times on RX7's with similar sized turbos, identical map sensor scaling, and injector sizes, operating over 18 psi- so its a good starting point for us- no worries!
We'll begin tuning including datalogging with your wideband (I have a backup Innovate LM2 system too)
As for water/meth injection- we have been using Aquamist for over 6 yrs. with great results-they also provide great tech support.

Thanks Bryan! You have built me a very beautiful car and put lots of work into it. The motor has soon no boost and i know you will treat it right.

When i got done bleeding the brakes it was late. I did cruise around the town for a hour and drove through the spot, but didn't stop. My phone was dead so i couldnt call catch-22. But he said later that he didnt go.
