rx6 install help

Ordered RX6 kit, removed UIM and LIM ( and various vacuum hoses/ solenoids), Wife has baby, parts arrive, wife still has baby... months pass...finally she allows me to commence the install. Umm... did I mention that I failed to label anything. Need help. I live in SC and do not need emmission controls, should I just block everything off?
I am using a PFC stock mount intercooler ( don't laugh, I cannot afford another right now) How can I fabricate pipes to get from turbo to intercooler.
Wastegate control... instructions show how to hook up with a boost controller (cannot afford one), will the powerfc control boost? If so, how can I hook it up?
Last one, when I torqued the manifold bolts to the required spec, studs came out (yes, pulling the aluminum with them!). How tight should these be?
Okay, one more... What kind of joke is Apexi playing with that third nut on the downpipe to turbo connection?
Excuse me if I made some forum mistakes with this thread, I'm new to this stuff and could use all the help possible.
Thanks

First, congratulations on the baby! I finished my t04e install a couple of months ago with a one year old around the house, mainly by doing a majority of the work while the wife and baby were sleeping.

With the RX6, you can keep emissions if you want. It might actually be a little less work if you don't already have block off plates for the ACV and EGR and a new belt to drive the water pump. I think the RX7 store sells the plates if you don't have them. I think you keep the solenoid connected to the FPR even if you get rid of everything else, but you might get more info from someone who deleted emissions.

Someone else might have input on how to connect the turbo to the IC. My kit had all of the piping so I didn't have to deal with a custom connection.

Your wastegate should have an adjustable spring that you can use to set maximum boost pressure without using an electronic controller. You should be able to connect a vacuum line from the compressor side of the turbo to the lower wastegate nipple. Be very careful setting the spring tension and be wary of spiking.

I don't think the manifold bolts are super tight. 30-50 is my guess, but check the shop manual as I can't remember from my install. I didn't have any problems with inserting new studs or ripping them out while tightening.

Good luck! BTW, if you have a '93 with no passenger airbag, you can take the new RX-7 enthusiast for a ride when you get the turbo complete.

You live in Charleston? That is where I just moved from. Which FD is yours?? I have a red FD and a red FC (TII). PM me and I can set you up with all of the local guru's for 7's. If nothing else then contact David and R and D Motorsports on Ashley Phosphate Rd in North Charleston. He is an invaluable source of information. He's mainly a Honda shop, but he is a great all around mechanic. I'll be waiting to hear from you for the rest of the info. Best of luck to you.
