How much hp can you squeeze out of the bnr stage 4? It'll be far more expensive to go with an aftermarket turbo, manifold, external wastegate, oil lines and such if you're looking to make the same amount of power.

I have a S5 BNR Stage 4 as well.

It is built the same as any other turbo, so you have to figure out what made it smoke in the first place.

Too high oil pressure at inlet? Too high sump pressure?

There is a chance you can get the rear seal to seal back up as well.

One auto-x day I noticed my car was smoking pretty badly. A curious person had pushed my sump vent all the way onto the hose it was on so there was no venting and my catch can was full.

I just had to re-vent the sump and the smoking stopped after a bit.

I would rebuild the turbo if it needs it and go through my oil feed/sump venting to make sure it is set up correctly.

only Bryan can answer that.

the shaft and turbine have been upgraded in the stage 4 so the T3 kit probably will not work. if the CHRA was unmolested then the T3 kit should work, but i have never taken apart the larger hybrids to know for sure. i do know the turbine housing has been cut for the larger hotside wheel.

you may consider asking him or putting a stock turbo on it until you can have him rebuild it.

choosing a turbo is like setting up your fuel system, you always want more than what you're going to use, upgrade to the 362, you'll have more turbo than you need. if you want to go fast it's not going to be cheap. just my 2 cents.

S5 THICK plate i hope you mean. the majority of S5 rear plates are in fact the same cast as the series 4 and just as weak.
