Profec B and Single

I spent the most part of today trying to figure out how to install my Profec B onto my T78. I read through some old threads and that just confused me more, it seems some people are having problems running it with the extrenal setting and some aren't. Can someone help me out. As of now i have a linefrom the front spot on the WG (greddy) and it goes to the charge pipe. Than I have the rear nipple on the WG going to the OUT on the Solenoid. Then the IN is taped into the LIM for a vaccum source, and the unit mounted insided the car going to the LIM, is this correct? TIA

Ok I am not sure of what you are saying but here is how should be set up for best results.

From the Profec B motor: OUT goes to the spring adjust nipple on the WG. IN goes to Intake manifold or piping.....somewher that can read Vac. and Boost.

The other smaller nipple on the WG should be tapped in somewher to read VAC. and Boost. I spliced mine into the same line my Map Sensor and boost guage are on .

You also need to ensure the swith settings on the back are correct. There are two choices the first one is for external wastegate and the other is for a consistent over boost occurs. I use the first one and think it works best even when over boost happens.

4 3 2 1 4 3 2 1
off on on off on off on off

hope this answers your question

Wait wait...the switch settings you describe (off on on off) is the exact opposite of what the Greddy diagram says on the Scuderia site :

http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/profec_install.html

I only mention this because I tried the Scuderia site method, and I have no control over the boost. It sounds like the hookup is the same, but if the switch settings as Ranzo describes, then that might be my solution!

(Sorry for diggin up an old post...)

the instruction manual tell you everything you need to know;
http://www.greddy.com/tech/PROFEC_B_SPEC2.pdf
try that.
On mine the top nipple of the external wastegate went to the COM and the boost signal went into the borst on the oposite side (NC) of the control solonoid. and then on the side nipple on the wastegate went to the compressor housing or boost signal before TB.

Thanks for the reference jrey...actually after thinking about it, I think the diagrams on Scuderia's site is correct, but I was mis-reading the switch settings...it's actually the WHITE part of the picture that is the switch, not the black.

the way I have it is a line from my turbo outlet pipe going to a T I put on one nipple of the profec. that T goes into the profec and the other side goes to the external wastegate. if you have the profec b solenoid upside down and the greddy lettering (upsidedown) facing towards the driverside fenderwall then it is the nipple on your right if you are standing behind the solenoid. Then on the other nipple I have a line going to the wastegate as well. you want to use the external settings for the profec. you need to keep that lim nipple you used for what its used for stock...put it to the intercooler pipe and do the same for the source for the profec

That is the correct way to install it.
