Which port type should I use?

I have an 87 TII with a garret 60-1 on it. .55 a/r front 1.32 a/r rear P trim divided with a divided manifold. Right now I'm running a streetport that was preformed by rotorsports racing so i'm sure its tinny. My question is, what type of port would be best for me running this turbo? i'm guessing I'll just go with a large streetport, because I want to retain some driveabilty and dont have money to replace plates every 6 months or so

Also, on the exhaust sleeves, remove them and then port or keep them and port them some more?

I think you should go all out peripheral with 4" intake holes

I would say that a LARGE streetport would be fine. I know for a fact that a large streetport will spool that turbo without any problems. However, a half bp would really spool it nicely and your rev range would go up which would be great if you're into drag racing. Just a thought though. Laterz.

Where can you get templates for a "large streetport"? Thats what I want as well and only have access to RB ones.

i was going to freehand it, which i'm sure isn't going to be easly, if you find templates let me know

I'm not really looking for a drag app. My car is more of a streetcar, but where i live it is very mountainous and we have some great curvey roads. I need some sudo quick spool and not so much high end. Right now it starts to spool around where stock was, but i'm sure if i enlarge the exhaust it should help

I know that my TII that's for sale was ported with a template from Atkins rotary. Also, Judge Ito was talking about making templates for some of his porting which is legendary. I would PM the Judge and check to see if he made those templates or not. If not then I know the Atkins large streetport in my TII is HUGE!! The car has to idle around 1k. I love it and it spools the turbo soooo quick. Let me know if I can be of any more help. Laterz.

I didn't see them on their site and even with their rebuilt engines I only saw an option for a "mild streetport" but I emailed them to find out. Thanks. I'll PM the Judge too.

i might wind up lowering my hotside a/r than try and compensate with huge ports, still not sure what i want to do.

BoostedRex: do you have any pictures of your housing with that port?

Unfortunatly no I don't. I picked up the car about 1,200 miles after the rebuild from a friend of mine. I traded the engine out of my FD for the entire TII. Not a bad deal huh?? Not to mention that the porting in my 13B-REW was BEAUTIFUL!!!! That was a large streetport as well, but it was custom/freehand porting. Thankfully it worked out. I have yet to port my own engine, but I will be helping with the half bp that's coming for my new project FD. I'll try and see if I can get some pix of my housing from the guy who built the motor for you Ridge Tech.

Who has half-bridge templates? Ito? Atkins?
Is a half bridge realistic for road racing?

I'm not sure you can get half-BP templates. Its maily just a street-port with an extra eyebrow cut.

BDC does it by eye (more or less)...

I think with a properly sized turbo, a HBP would be great for road-racing. More midrange and a lot more top end.

Man you guys are crazy with your bigger is better theories. If its a "Street" car do a larger "Street" port. Many people have made over 600 hp dynoed with street ports. In the end its all up to you. If you go with anything bigger than a large street port and you dont plan on competitevly racing you are going to cause alot of prblems for nothing. You car will have worse mpg, idle alot rougher, sound MUCH louder(every cop within a mile will hear you), and for what another couple of horses. I would just recommend going smaller on the A/R that 1.32 is huge. If you went with a, say, 1.00 you will probably spool up 500rpm sooner. Its all up to you and what your goals are.

Why is that turbo so much money? You can get a regular TS04 for like $700. Then a different compressor and turbine wheel should be more than a few hundred. Well I dunno with GReddy parts.
