PFC & 6 injectors !!

Been talking to someone who was telling me that it is a popular mod in Japan to use 6 injectors with the PFC for SINGLE turbos by modding something inside the ECU.. anyone has more info on this?

Is putting on resistors on the injectors ..ie in the case of running 2x850, 2 x 1600's essentially the same as what this guy is saying ..or is this something else.. if it is in fact something else totally.. then watch out .

Here's a cut and paste from the email I got:-

"(snip) ...And if you modify the inside (ECU) of your Power FC, it can control six injectors. The modify is often called "Twin Drive." Notice that if you try to control the injectors by just modifying the wire, it would ruin the power transistor inside of the ECU. Thereby, the injectors will eject the gasoline at all times, and it might catch a fire. I will tell you that the situation is very dangerous and you don't want to barbecue your car, right? So just don't try to modify by wiring. If you cannot modify the ECU, then you have to use the other means of the injector control. This way you can use
2x850cc injectors for primary, and 2x850 + 2x1000 injectors for secondaries."

TIA,

You don't need that much fuel.

When you run 2 injectors per channel in parrallel you cut the impedance in half. With low impedance 1600's this could easily fry the driver circuit (lower resistance/impedance increases current flow & heat).

Adding a 10 or 20 ohm resistor (don't quote me on the values) to ground should take care of the impedance mismatch.

If that's plenty of fuel your T51RKAi, then you're not boosting it hard yet. You do need more injector.

Hmm so if your so smart on this explain this mod in detail. I have been living in Japan for 9 years now and I have a Power FC in my car. I spoke to the Owner of Border Racing where I bought the PFC at about running additional injectors with it and he said that you could just wire them up by splicing into the existing wires. This is also not recomended however but if you want to try then you can.

Since you can adjust lag time and everything to run the size inj. you need with a PFC it makes sense to me that you would just get the properly sized injecotor instead of opeing up an expensive ECU and fuckn with it. IMHO

Resource,
what kinda duty are you hitting?
Im kinda starting to wonder if 850's and 1300's are enough fuel for my t04r at the 22-24 psi i eventually intend to try on it.

Well, in case this was directed to me.. that qoute that I posted from the email I got form SCOOT Sports in Japan ! .. yup.. the same guys who made 711 hp at 29 psi !... in my reply, I told him that I didn't feel too cumfy opening up the ECU and ..as you put it.. ******* with it.. but then the proof is in the pudding..ain't it.. I think 711 RWhp is proof enough that their way works ..cauz, everyone on this forum has a copy of that vid on their Hard Drive..
