P/P Turbo's?

I am building a P/P Triple and with not having much experiance with Peripheral Turbo set up's i thought i'd see if any one here could help.

My engine will be a Triple using 48mm throttle bodies and simalar size inlet Runners. I am not sure what size Exhaust runners etc i will be using but i'd like to keep the Exhaust presure to a minimum to reduce the Overlap effect.

The Turbo its self is going to be my biggest problem, i was thinking of useing a 1.5 Turbine housing with a P trim wheel and possably a T72 compressor but i dont know if this is too big or small?

I will be Controling it all with a Microtech LTX12 but the other thing is the size of Injectors to start with? I have 6x 1000 cc's at the moment but i am thinking the Primarys may be a bit large so it might drop to 800cc and 1400cc secondrys.

I would appreciate any input as i'm kind of Guess building it from information i have collected on P/P engines (flow and power delivery).

Cheers.

Chris

from what i can work out, that exhuast housing will be too small, remember lots of guys are running 1.32a/r P trim exhuast housings on 'street' port 13B's and with a full bridge port they seem to restrict too much, you will have a 3rd rotor and more CFM. i would think you'd be looking at a 1.3 or larger Q trim wheel, maybe something even larger than Q trim.

Why don't you ask these guys? Evil 7 Your engine sounds like basically the same thing they are doing.

That will be FAR too small !

You will need @ minimum a Garret T51 turbocharger.
R trim wheel (I think thats what they call it? I can give you the specs) with single entry exhaust housing 1.22 a/r or there abouts.

Also a T76 or larger compressor wheel will be a much better flow match for a PP triple rotor.

That engine config will drive a very large turbine, the type I am suggesting Racing Beat have been using for quite a while on their single turbo triple PP's, can show you a photo if you like

Would it make it very unresponcive through the gears?

I am trying to make the engine as Drivable as possable, but still keeping as much Power as possable. I'm hoping for more a Street/Track car rather than a Drag car.

I had no idea that the P/P style could drive such a wild Turbo.

you might not want to drive this on the street too much, it'll drink gas like a fish and will be ear-bleeding loud. you could stick w/ the sideports and just get it streetported. you should still have sufficient exhaust energy to drive a 76mm turbo.

the power band of a PP is around 4500-5500 up until 9000-9500, alot depending on port timing and engine internals

they flow ALOT of CFM both intake and exhuast i'd pretty safely say you would easily spool a turbo straight of a 14-16 litre truck with a problem.

I got one more question for you guys.

I am in the Uk as you can tell, but i am a bit puzzled that Garrett dont reconise Wheel trims? can anyone explane how the garrett System of Turbine sizing works? They say the Trim system is somthing Turbonetics use for there own Turbos?

Thanks.

P trim wheel has a 68mm exducer, Q trim is 70 or 72mm exducer, someone like Peter (rice racing) will be able to give you the exact dimensions of what you are after

ok so its the Exducer size they match the wheels to.

Does anyone have a Scale?
