Thumbs up Opinions on Turbine AR for T62-: 0.84 or 1.15

Hi guys,

After some opinions from anyone.

I have a Turbonetics T62-1 and I am running a divided aftermarket turbine manifold. I have 2 choices of what to run and want to know what is the best of what I have.

I find myself in the position of having only either an open .84, or a divided 1.15 rear housing - these are both P-trim. Ideally I would like a 1.0, but of the above, I am really asking - will the .84 chop me back too much at the top and be an EGT monster? Will the 1.15 be so laggy that it's no fun to drive?

Motor is a S5 Turbo that has just hard some large street ports cut. Fuel system is 4x1000cc + 044 so should be able to capitalise on what either turbo might make, and planning on running 14-18psi.

Car is an FB, weight approx 2300lbs. Usage will be an occasional weekend toy, but will take it to the strip and see what happens, so pretty much street.

Any votes guys?

Cheers for your help..

I run a GT3574R with a .84 divided turbine housing with a p-trim hotside wheel. I have great response and power all throughout the RPM range. I don't notice any choke points out of it. I run mostly 13 PSI normally and have tuned up to 17PSI (I am 6300FT above sea level). I have a street ported motor in a FD.

I do not know my EGT's.

I have a 62-1 with the .84 and love it (FD).

I did not notice any power die'n off up top but I also do not have a street port.

For me I was my best move - I had a 1.0 divided prior.

1.15 is too big imo.

What I gained down low more than makes up for what I lost up top (if any).

1.15 will have less back pressure and heat but you already know this.

Here's a quote by Turblown:
Most users report 1 bar by the 3500rpm range. I have seen 24psi on one car with stock ports @ 3400rpms( this is obviously an exception).

Using a Microtech LT8 in 2d mode.

Cheers guys, Interesting couple of responses about the .84.

Sess - what made you change from the 1.0? We're you pulling it apart anyways or was that mod specifically to add turbo response?
