OBX Stainless Steel Divided Turbo manifold...

Ok,

after seeing people posting about buying a OBX SS manifold dvided from OBXracingsports.com

people have started asking questions on wheather this will fit on a FC

http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/showth...6414#post86414

after trying to do some research i hvae found out that HKS Stainless Steel manifold dviided is the same one used on both FC and FD.

Looking at SRmotorsports.com their cast divided manifold too is also used on FC and FDs.

Now the question remains to be see is, can this manifold be used on FCs. If yes, what modifications will this require? ie space plate, (using RB flanges and welding this onto the manifold's flange such that bigger turbos can clear fine), trimming something in the car?

has anyone got any opinions? does anyone have one in their hands that they can do some rough measurements with?

All your help is much apprciated.

-Jason

Mostly off of ebay, but I imagine that you could get it elsewhere as well.

Here is the website of the guy's company whom is sell the manifold on EBAY: http://www.obxracingperformance.com/index.itml

Now He does not have a Pic up yet of the Rx-7 single turbo manifold but he sells it. That is where I got mine from. Click on,"contact us" on his website and he is a nice guy I think he will answer your questions in some form of way.

I have mine and Dale Clarks engine on an engine stand with the intake manifolds installed. I am going to try to bolt it and a few differnet sized turbine housings up soon to see if it fits.

There are no bolton downpipes as far as i know, you are going to have to make one.

Bad news, the manifold does not fit on an FC as is. The 1.15 A/R exhaust housing still hits the intake manifold and even with a racing beat spacer looks like it will. We are exploring having some sort of spacer machined to fit the turbo side of the manifold too.

There are no bolt up downpipes for any custom turbo setup (which is what you're doing if you're building your own setup) so you will have to buy a flange and have one made once you get everything bolted together.

ahh i see... i just didn't know if you could use the hks or xs downpipes since the obx is supposedly just a copy off of that turbo manifold... so i was just wondering if i used say a t04e if the manifold was the same as the xs one if i could just buy the xs downpipe... guess this is a big no though huh?
