New dyno numbers 610 whp

Made final pulls tonight on my new turbo, at 28 lbs. boost it made 610 whp and 455 lb ft torque.
basically its a R85 turbo with a 66mm compressor wheel instead of the 62mm wheel. Has same exact turbine housing and wheel as R85. The exhaust side is the restriction now, as its too small to get the exhaust backpressure out quick enough at the top end rpms.
I am done for now, as my next step would be a bigger turbo and clearanced motor. This was all done on a street ported stock 2mm seal motor with no mods internally except for it being street ported.
Thanks goes to Ray at PFsupercars for a beast of a street car.

Thanks, I am going to keep this setup for a while, rear craddle is on hold, not enough time to get any made at this point, but soon.

Very nice! I am just shooting for 500+ and that seems so small with everyone making 600+ lately! Is that r85 T4? 3 inch dp?

Awesome numbers Greg. Ready to see what times you can run at the track on that beast now.

PS. Did Ray build your motor? Just curious because I am thinking of letting him re-build mine since something is wrong with it.

It says "STD smoothing" on the dyno chart, which it should say "SAE smoothing" if SAE corrected. But I am sure he will clarify.

Correction factor(CF) is 'Standard' not 'SAE' corrected.
Smoothing level is '3'.

Does it really that much? Give or take a little horsepower just for bragging rights.
What's important are the mods used meaning motor porting configuration, turbo and boost level used, tuning parameters, dyno conditions etc. and most important the tuner used to make it all work all of which were stated above. As long as no Ricer mods were used for example like intercooler spraying etc. to inflate power output.
Remember you can always copy someone's mods but not their tuner's ability to extract the most from those mods.
More people like Ray Wilson are what's missing from the rx-7 community.
Huge congrats to Ray on another job well done.

That is standard, we did look at uncorrected and it made 604 Uncorrected, which is what it truely actually made without any correction factors from the dyno, which is why I am sure you are asking. If you want, I can get ray to send me the "uncorrected and smoothing of 0" dyno sheet if you really want to see it?

I am using a ACT Xtreme pressure plate and act unsprung 6 puck disc.

All the parts that I am running were recommended to me by Ray, the motor was street ported, tuned, and all fabrication work was by him.

Here is the "Uncorrected and 0 smoothing" chart, a difference of only 5whp and 4 lb ft torque
The approach to my setup is simple and proven to work, as I wasnt trying to re-invent the wheel.

Electromotive tec3R
PFS race intercooler
PFS ported motor
borg warner s300 turbo 66mm
PFS tuned
4" downpipe to RP 3.75" exhaust
tial 44mm wg
Xcessive LIM
big bore tb
1000cc primary's
1600cc secondary
dual nippon denso fuel pumps
Koyo radiator
act clutch
9.5 lbs flywheel
3 piece pulley set

thats basically it besides the other usual mods like brakes, gauges, etc...

Man that is bad ***! I love seeing these high horse power cars poping up now! I'm glad to see that clutch/pressure plate combo working as I've got the same one and wasn't too sure if it would hit numbers like that. The more I see peoples huge exhausts on thier 500, 600 and 700 rwhp cars I'm starting the think my peuny little 3" is not going to cut it. Are both those fuel pumps intank? Also what size are the feed and return lines? What size is that hotside? Congrats again man! Can't wait to see your track times.

edit: So how do you like the tec3r? I've seen lots of people going this route reasantly and was just wondering what the differances are that warrant the high price. It's obviously doing something right if you are hitting 600rwhp One more thing...... A 9lb flywheel? Thats the first time I've seen anyone else use such a light flywheel for a drag car. Let us know how it works out for you.
