that's really gonna suck if that's true. what would I check next?
it wouldn't flood from the extra fuel? there's gotta be a ton of fuel at startup since I'm running the e85. I thought it would make since, because it was hard to start and would backfire alot. and then if you could get it started you'd have to help it iidle, and that was even tricky because if you'd just press the gas to rev it, it would die on you. I figured that would be symptoms of too much extra fuel, and it flooding out?
I could also pull the plugs themselves to see how those look. if this has ben on ongoing issue those could be totally shot too?

idk what's next? when I took the intake manifold off there was no sign of any injectors leaks. what else could it be outside of my timing being off in my tune?

I`d second vacuum leak... I dyno at 427 and then driving thereafter I notice my exhaust manifold glowing cherry red. Also, if you stay away from the back of the car and look into the exhaust pipe you`ll see it glowing as well.
Check the lower intake manifold and make sure you have a true seat onto the side of the engine.

BUT, for the life of me I can't see how a vacuum leak will lead to your problems. If anything, it'll give you a high idle as the car sucks in air from an additional source.
I think this phantom vacuum leak is red herring number two. Keep searching young jedi

for most cases you are right... a vac leak will just raise the idle and make the car run leaner depending on how large a leak there is.
i have had a car tho, that busted the brake booster line open and made the car hard to start.. gave it a glowing manifold when idleing (like ****).. etc.
worth a shot, but as said don't get your hopes up too high haha

update on the situation.... after replacing the coil I still had spark issues. after speaking with AEM directly they seemed to think that there was an ignition driver failure. I sent in both my AEM EMS and AEM CDI box to be repaired under warranty if that is the case. AEM estimated the turn around at 3-5 business days. I will update the thread again when the boxes are back, and if that fixes my problems.

*UPDATE*
Just heard back from AEM, and the ignition box was dead, and will be covered under warranty. For the time being I'm going to replace the factory ignition harness, and convert it back to stock ignition setup. I was told I should be fine at my hp level with stock ignition. Sounds like AEM is about two months behind with there CDI warranties. AEM was definitely quick on their diagnosis, and contact with me. Good group of people to deal with.

did some more reading, and I guess it doesn't sound that uncommon. most of what I'm reading is that it's probably just flooded, so I'm gonna head over there with a new set of plugs and see what happens. *crosses fingers*

case closed. with stock ignition in tact, and my correct tune loaded into the EMS, she fired right up today, and runs like a top.
CLIFF NOTES: had flooding issues, and car was running so rich exhaust manifold glowed.
FIX: AEM igntion failure. returned to stock ignition until the updated CDI is put out in roughly 60 days. Thanks again to all the guys at AEM for their help.
