Need help: 93-95 RX7 Buildup

Looking to get a 93-95 RX7 in the near future.
So I've been doing a little research. I did this buildup and got all the prices from www.rx7.com
I never thought of buying one until I sat in my friends the other day. I couldn't believe I fit (6'6" 280)
So that same day I did a little research.

My friends RX7:

I'd like to have 400whp on pump if possible. I did a little buildup. I don't really want to spend more then $15,000 on modifications.
If and when I buy one I will throw in a new engine with upgraded apex seals. I'd also love the HKS T51 Turbo upgrade, but it's out of my budget.

With this buildup.
What am I missing?
What is not needed?
What should I change?
What do you guys recommend?

Good to see someone actually doing some research on their own!

First off, if you are planning to throw in a new engine w/street port and upgraded seals plan on deducting $5000 right off the bat from the 15k. The second thing I would suggest is shopping somewhere other than RX7.com, I have personally ordered a few parts from them (and on a side note their customer service is EXCELLENT!) but many of them are either overpriced compared to others.. or the products they offer in certain categories are limited. A good example is your clutch/flywheel setup. You can get an ACT clutch w/lightened flywheel from many places for cheaper than that including the new bearings. I'd say you won't need a KAAZ lsd either unless you plan on launching the crap out of the car at the strip with some DR's.

Your cooling system selection looks good. Your exhaust options may need revisions in my opinion. First off any single turbo kit that comes complete will include a downpipe, so delete that right away. You may want a midpipe w/a muffler or resonator in it, and an Apexi N1 exhaust will be obnoxiously loud with a single turbo setup. I recently ditched my Blitz Nurspec exhaust when I went single because of the ridiculous noise and drone, and my motor still has stock porting.

Fuel/ECU looks good, ditch the C-west headlight cover since it is virtually useless even though it looks functional. Personally I would put more $$$ into the suspension out of that 15k than you are alloting for right now, but then if all out speed is what you want then that is your decision.

If you really want some advice I would say cool your heels and mod your car slowly.. it is important to get to know the car and how to maintain it before going all out immediately. Spend time researching which turbo kit you want to go for, a Greddy T78 is an excellent kit but has its own characteristics that are unique like most other kits.. in this case it is a bit laggy w/great top end potential. The kit of choice lately has been the GT35/40, great spool and fat top end. 15k is a lot of money to spend, take your time and spend it wisely.. and most of all have fun doing it.

No problem, I feel enthusiastic for you because the forum has been flooded lately with people who just got their car.. and they come on here asking 'How can I get 600+rwhp and smoke the Viper down the street?' That kind of garbage gets old, and like I said it is nice to see someone who is taking the time to research on their own and listen to others who have done it already. If you have any questions feel free to PM me, I did the turbo setup on my 7 as well as a Supra before this.. I am by no means an expert but I will help you where I can. I am sure plenty of other people on here can give you good advice as well..
