why my turbine turns red?

I have a stock port 13B, it has a blown thru holley at about 6 psi......my question is, my car after idling at about 1800 RPM for about 15 minutes the turbine turns red....what's wrong there?

Another question is.......we hav not being able to idle the engine under 1500 rpm.....does any body have any suggestions?....I am running a 2.5/3.0 inch exahust.

I think it might have something to do with your fuel flow. It may be running lean. Do you still have a catalyic converter?

Turbine turns red

No, I don't have a converter. Do you think that idle being so high (2100 RPM) would have something to do with it?

I wouldn't suggest driving around if the turbine is turning red. Call up some shops and see what they have to say. Its a lot cheaper to call around then having to replace a turbo or engine

aren't those things calibrated a little off from what the rotary sees as rich/lean and happy rotoring?

afr guages are pointless when it comes to forced induction(not sure about a super charge though)
It might be your timing, there was a thread about a similar problem not to long ago.
Are the oil feed/ and Coolent lines lines installed properly, If its non of that then the only thing i can think of is your tuning. get a Greddy egt guage and tell use what your exhuast gas temps are.

Don't worry too much about your fuel mixture, CHECK YOUR INGNITON timing (base) and also check your leading & trailing spark on both rotors, if the timing is very retarded also you will get glowing housing at idle and "bright" red exhaust manifold if the timing is too retarded OR the timing channels is faulty.

try this out and tell us how you go.

it could be your carb setup? who set it up for a blowthrough? are you using the black nitro floats?
