You won't crack 700whp without a 2 piece e-shaft or not for long. You'll also need more fuel injectors as well.

Which Borg Warner are you going with??? I wonder how long my motor's going to last without the 2 piece e-shaft... My 42r will be going in soon. I guess I'll keep it down to 650whp

it can last a lot longer than most think that e-shaft is one of the ways to tackle the problem, not THE ONLY way.

What's the most HP you have made on the stock shaft without the rotor tips touching?

Aside from clearancing the rotors, anything else I'm missing?

Thanks,

Anthony

When your making that kind of power, yes other things are needed to be done, but the e-shaft is necessary to help with engine flex. Only speaking from experience though.

My rotors are getting clearanced more and all the other stuff along with it. I don't have time to wait on the eshaft, it's on backorder. I'll have 6 injectors.

the 78mm inducer I believe, (may be wrong) I was gonna go with the 42R but it's not as reliable as the borg warner, plus it makes a nice high pitch whissel and it's slightly bigger.

sorry i didn't mean to sound like i was going against what you were saying, just that i believe for the 700ish point it's not neccessary, altho it's a great help.. i guess we shall see in due time

I'm not sure if a Borg Warner could be more reliable than a 42r simply as all the Borg Warners are oil lubricated/cooled. The 42r is oil lubricated and water cooled. Water cooled turbos typically last longer than a oil dependent turbo. I'm probably wrong though...

Big Ern, can you elaborate on what Ray does for his "race clearancing?" I'm not asking for specs but just the basics...

we are starting to switch everything over to borg warner on all our hondas.. and if you go to the track you will see a lot of them making the change as well

we use a lot of GT35r and GT40r turbos and i'll be honest i'm very un happy with the reliability of them. granted we're pushing them all in the 30psi range quite frequently but we have some that with less than 1000 miles are blowing oil out the compressor side. we keep adding crank case ventilation and it helps a tiny bit but we do not get this issue with the good ol' Borgs

Are you using a restricter on your oil feed? Sometimes too much oil is as bad as not enough.

I shouldn't have a problem hitting a little over 700, thats my goal. Plus it's not like i'm gonna run 35psi daily or anything, only when someone wants an *** whooping =D

yes sir always do... it's not every single one doing it, but it's happening quite often, but again mostly in the high boost setups. we're actually about to finish a gt4202 setup on one of our coupe's so we'll see what's up.

i just gotta say the BW's are really impressive and it's what i'm using on my new setup now.

^ I think you're thinking of the turbine housing. I don't think you would have a fun time routing 4" inter-cooler piping...
