Can you post pictures of the engine tear down please? I.e. the internal parts and damage.
Thanks! -J |

sad part this was the only run i didn't keep my laptop connected so i don't have a log... (they wouldn't let me keep the laptop in the car)
BTW you need to set your ecu up so it logs on it's own. You don't need to keep your laptop in the car. You can set an external trigger to activate it or simply use rpm to activate it, so anytime your over 1500rpm for example it automatically datalogs. You can then pull data from ecu after the run.. |
Är ju kass på engelska, men du menar att kugg-kransen har rört sig?!

Sorry to hear the news.. At least it doesn't look so bad and you should get it up and running quite quickly...

The company I work for full time(not my rotary stuff) has its main office based out of Sweden. I will be over there for a work trip and have a freed day and 1/2 in Stockholm to explore with another co-worker.

finally i got my new front wheels :)
http://transport.molnsatra.se/bil/bild.JPG the motor is ready for assembly, hopefully ill have the time this weekend to put her together again.. |
here's a lil' vid from last time at the track
you can comment on my driving all you want, i already know i SUCK!!:lol::blush: either i bog.. or spin so i fall off boost in second.. you can also see the motor let go while on the limiter on the last run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8jiysn9C4U my trap speed on 1/8 is 110mph but 1/4 trap is only 134mph.. isn't that a little low? My tire pressure was way to low, can it be the reason? |
You are doing great, the best advise i can give to you is get a lot of seat time in even if it is in your beater or DD.
Keep it up! |
What rear end do you have in that thing? Congrats on the times. Car looks great..

Yes low tire pressure will hurt mph up top.
|
Could be your tune going too rich or lean? if your hurt motor, maybe lean? How are you hurting motors on limiter? what happened to the motor?

I would guess that you are getting serious crankshaft flex , allowing the rotor to contact the housing , which is causing the seal groove to close in an "clip" the seal! You need to race clearance the rotors and/or invest in a two piece e shaft ! |
On the last run you had the rev limiter higher? i noticed it was around 8000rpm on most runs and 9000rpm on last run?
Also your burnouts are way to small. Try third gear. Those tyres need to be hotter. What tyre pressures were you running? Whats wrong with the engine? |

Whats wrong with the engine? when i got a decent burnout it would bog at 8000rpm so on the last run i tried a higher rpm. one rotor bearing spun and a rotor tip touched the housing causing one apex to get stuck in the groove. |
god I love synapse!! ...sometimes I wonder why they're not more popular..
|
Rotor bearing spun?
Dont use that rotor again. Has anyone played with any of the balancing on the engine etc? Is it the same rotor that had the smashed tip that damaged a bearing? What kind of revcut are you using? Set yourself up a 2 step and set it to 7500rpm and this will solve your bogging issue. The rotors you had previously? were they new? had someone put bearings in them? With your new engine. Get .15mm shaved of the tips of your apex seal slots. Gives the rotors abit of movement without smashing it self to bits. |
i burnout in second from the get go and dont think itll bog in second i tried and it doesnt(270hp) i take it to 7k and release the clutch and keep it around 5-6k. be careful with first gear burnouts i broke a stubby becasue of wheel hop the tires spin to slow that you have to rev it alot.

oh and keep up the good work =D i recently got my borg s400sx cant wait to mount it. and ill be tring out the ebay exhaust manifold, ill let people know how that works out.
