Today Gus and friend Danne was sorting out the wiring blues:nod:Some more work to do, but i've finished Gus motor with some grinding of the front cover:lol:Tomorrow hopefully motor is in the car:scratch:Shall be really interesting to hear the new "beast" come alive. Street testing with the Autronic auto tune and then heading for the RotoTest:egrin: Then we will see...

Nice color of the engine gustav :)
|
Soon the new engine is to be started:scratch: Autronic SM4 and the 500R cdi ignition ha sooo many cables to be wiring in:) First Rototest hub dyno, then goes the engine out to be seriously mapped and dyno'ed on a SuperFlow 901 bench:icon_tup: Then if Gus makes some serious hp the engine will go back to the FD engine bay, and then hit the strip:egrin:

been doing some street driving now and everything seems to work, im very impressed with the autronic unit so far. the car runs flawlessly both on vacuum and on boost
im at about 21-22psi now.. i feel im ready for some 30psi tuning... im also trying to setup the 2-step/launch control, i've been reading alot on the subject but all information is for piston engines... anyone that can guide me how to set it up properly on autronic for a rotary? |
I request, as I am sure many do, VIDEO!!
Can you share some data on how that bw s475 spools on a large street ported engine? I am running the exact same turbo and plan to be on the dyno next week. =Benjamin |

GL on the dyno! |

i've got some good news and some bad news.
I was at the track today and i set a PB at 10.8 with a crappy 1.7 60ft... Had big problems with my burnouts and i all my 60ft sucked.. either it bogged or wheelspin. i guess i need more seat time :) the bad news is i hurt the motor, one apex on the rear rotor is probably stuck.. i ran into the rev limiter very hard in 1st gear (9000) and when i got into second it was running on 1½ rotor.. sad part this was the only run i didn't keep my laptop connected so i don't have a log... (they wouldn't let me keep the laptop in the car) i still havn't given up so ill take the motor apart probably in the next few days will have some videos for you guys soon.. |
damn sorry to hear that gus!
|
can't belive how you have the energy to proceed... keep it up!
|
well i guess its a part of the game.. as long as i can learn something from it to prevent it next time..
I will get a vid from inside of the car and hopefully i can see the AFR's.. then maybe some of you guys can give me some hints of what happened.. |
the motor is out..
http://transport.molnsatra.se/bil/1.JPG one apex is stuck, from what i can see through the exhaust port the housings looks OK. what could have caused this? |
glue? :P
|
the rotor has dimpled and grabbed the apex seal. it detonated.
|
sounds like good luck on your part as far as things that could have gone wrong but didn't. Next time get that thing tuned better before taking it to the track...
|
rear rotor bearing had spun 180dgr, no harm done to the excentric shaft(!) the rotor tip had made a very small touch to the housing but didn't leave a mark... i could just slide the apex out of the groove and there is nothing wrong with the seal.
housing and irons looks mint. |
