You make a good point about the drilled counter weights. I was looking at my counter weight for my 20b engine and it had drill marks just like the ones in that pick you posted. My engine rotors were all "C" weight. The counter weight had 3 drill holes on it. 2 deep and 1 shallow. Do you know if the manuel tranny stock flywheel also has these balance drill marks? If so would you have any pics?
This makes me think if I decided to bevel my rotors, that I would need to weight them first, then use heavier rotors to bevel on so I can get the weight back 2 what the "C" weight rotors were in the first place. I know that sounds expensive but I'm rebuilding my 20b with higher compression rotors anyways. So I could theoretically buy 3 heavier "B" weight rotors and bevel them to weight the same as my older "C" rotors to keep every thing balanced.

just pay the $250 and have your rotating assembly (both counterweights, eshaft, rotors and clutch/flywheel) all balanced. Do it right. Having my rotors balanced first, then the rest all balanced together. Or thats what i think it is, dun remember.
^ Technically I am correct so why the NO NO NO? If my engine is already balanced for "C" weight rotors, lightning a set of heavier "B" rotors to "C" weight spec shouldn't cause any balancing problems. Besides, I like experimenting myself.

Even if i did'nt agree with your idea on the rotor thing, I still feel sorry for loosing what looked like a realy nice S5.
Throw a bit of bondo on her and she'll be good as new.
