I appreciate your input. I don't want you to think that i am criticizing your idea/setup, because as soon as I can, I'll be doing the same thing with a GT35R. I just like to figure things out as best I can, and the idea intrigues me. Sometimes I get worried that because I think of an idea, I have to find out why it won't work, not just be happy that the idea will work.

What would seem like it would work best, is if the wastegate, where actually welded on the the housing itself, so that there was no disruption in the flow of the gases, so that when the wastegate was closed, it was like it was not even there.. It the popper(or whatever you call the part of the gate that opens and closes) was flush with the inside of the exhaust housing, this would deliever teh best repesponse.

Since I've never actually tested each system vs the other to see whether there is an increase or not in pressure in the volute, I can't answer that. You also have to realize that you can mount that wastegate where he did, or closer or farther from the inlet flange. Different locations may have different effects. Any bad side effects this location has "should" be negligable if not totally unnoticable at all but I can't guarantee that. Instead of analysing what the negative of this location is, look at if a little differently. I would think that this would be the place of "least compromise" when it comes to installing a wastegate.

 

It makes the manifold construction a lot easier but also ties you into using a single turbine housing instead of swaping to find what you like.

 

setzep - What did that uim come off of??? I've never seen it before. Looks just like the 20b uim but for a 13B
