what turbos are out there that can make 400whp for around 1000 dollars on a stock 3rd gen engine. I have my engine apart and am considering a street port if it is needed. What is the general price for a street port?

pt61 will make well over 400.. but will be a tad slower to spool than a 60-1 which can make over 400 as well

You do realize that you'll need all the supporting parts to go single right?
Stand alone ECU: ~$1100.00
Fuel pump, rail, injector, regulators: ~$650.00

Or if you prefer, just slap on a new turbo and go for it.

You forgot all the direct turbo-related parts like

-manifold
-downpipe
-custom piping to intercooler
-oil/water lines and fittings
-BOPs
-intake filter and piping
-new pulleys for removal of air pump
-heat shielding, misc parts, etc. etc.

For your price requirments, your best bet is to go ebay route. The only way you are gonna come at all close to your budget. Good luck. lol.

I think he's just looking for a turbo that's ~$1,000.00, not a complete kit.

I hope so. Otherwise move the decimal point over one to the right for a real budget.
