Just installed my t78. Have a few questions and comments :)
First off I have to admint I'm very happy with the initial results. The car really doesn't come alive untill 4-4.5k but once it does definately a fun ride. The open wastegate dump sounds incredible. Well incredibly loud anyway... lol... We'll see how long I think it's cool.
I've only really have one problem, it's the common profec B / t78 kit boost control problem.
I can't seem to get the profec to control boost. I've hooked it up like sugested in the manual, and I've hooked up it like an internal wastegate.
Hooking it up as in the manual just lets the boost build. I let out of the throttle and my peak hold kept showing 1.0, 1.1, 1.2. No telling how high it would have gone if I was full throttle and stayed in it. With the profec unhooked I can keep stay at 9.5-10psi.
Anyone have anymore suggestions?

I'm still a little up in the air about hooking up the profec. I seem to have tried a lot of the different combos. Anyone have anymore imput on boost control with the t78 kit.
I've got the lines run to the top and side ports on the gate.
Which line off the wastegate hooks to the out on the profec? Do I need to hook the other line off the wastegate to the intake manifold? What are the proper dip switch settings for the setup.
When the profec is hooked up properly and I turn it off, I should be getting 10psi right? So far if I hook it up like the book says I can't keep boost down wether it is on or off. Other methods show the same results or sometimes I can't get more than 9.5-10 with it off or on.
Sorry for this repeat question, just need to gain control of my boost.
If I want to hook up a needle valve, I would assume it would go inbetween the intake manifold and the top port on the greddy wastegate, correct?
Thanks!

I have an AVC-R so I can't comment directly on the Profec but I would suspect that the hook up is similar. The top port on the wastegate goes to my AVC-R solenoid out while the side port goes to the pressurized tube just after the compressor discharge. The "in" port on the AVC-R solenoid goes to the same pressurized line. The dip switches on the back of the PRofec, I have no idea on that one...

Think of it this way , the pressure line off the turbo discharge is to be connected to the port below the diaphragm and is trying desperately to open up the wastegate by pushing against the spring and the diaphragm (within the WG) , to counteract this the boost controller is also pushing against the diaphragm and helping the spring keep the WG closed , when the gate is to open the controller reduces the pneumatic pressure to the WG and vents it to atmosphere , allowing the gate to be pushed open .............., so the bottom line is , connect the lower port of the gate to the highest soutce of pressure (turbo discharge) and tee off the line and connect to the "IN" port on the actuator , connect the "out" from the actuator to the top of the WG and the third port is a MAP sensor port so the controller can know whats happening , once hoked up right its should just be a matter of PROPERLY programming the controller .
