Just Dyno'd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Everyone

I had planned to Dyno/Tune my car this saturday
but I got a call at 4PM that I had to do it today since the tuner
made plans to fly out on saturday....

So, Itook off a bit early from work
and went and got 5 gallons of c16 to mix with my 4-5 gallons of 93 pump
I had in there already..

Also installed the B10EGV's with a grinded down socket

I left my shop/storage
and headed to TiTan MotorSports for there Dyno

We got the car all strapped in
Then the tuner spent a good 15 minutes cleaning up the map prior to even turning on the car......

Then it was time for its 1st pull
Now Keep in mind I was running 15psi (15 PSI wastegate spring)

OK?

Now

1st pull

448RWHP!

tuner read graph for peak torque
Messed with the timming

Next Pull

461RWHP!

Messed more with timming and fuel

did a 3RD pull

468RWHP

Tuner did a few more adjustments
STILL 15 PSI!!!

479RWHP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was jumping up and down let me tell you
Now its time to switch to the High Boost side of the profec B type S

Had to keep clicking up the **** till it finally went over 15PSI

Now you ready?

520 RWHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @ 19-20 PSI (went back n forth on the logs)

I USED 2MM ROTARY AVIATION APEX SEALS w/ STOCK MAZDA SPRINGS

End of debate! RA seals can handle the boost and work GREAT!
My car had NOT ONE F'ing KNOCK, PING, STUTTER, START ISSUE etc

http://cfiracing.com/vid/Default_0.wmv

67MM Turbo (PT67)
HKS LOG Manifold <--- thats right
HKS Standard Wastegate
3" DP w a Magnaflow oval muffler and duel APEX N1's
88 13BT Motor street ported w 88 Turbo rotors (lowest compression rotors)

Microtech LTX-8
with Bosch Coils
No ignition boxes of any sort

FD upper intake manifold and TB
NPR Intercooler
twin walbro fuel pumps

One issue I had is low voltage 11.8V @ WOT
even tho I bought a new FD 100AMP alternator
something is draining my Volts

Tuner said I could of made more power if I had better voltage
But I WAS HAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPY AS HELL with what I made

Even he was surprised and he had tuned tons of rotary's in US and PR.
I would like to Thank Bottle from Titan Motor Sports
for a great rate and being a very cool guy

none of this would be possible of course with out my great MicroTech Tuner!!!!!!!!
Gaby from Sporty Auto Racing/chassis

Will scan actual graphs tommarow

Thanks everyone......................

thats awesome for an FC, I don't think I've seen a street FC with that much HP! wow. Nice work man, I'd be happy as hell as well.

What were you expecting your max HP to be before you went in there?

Nice numbers, but I would've predicted more power at 20psi?
30%+ increase in boost for 50 more hp?
Who did the porting?

Wow, no boost creep or any boost problems with HKS standard gate? That's great to know! BTW, are you using the GTQ wheel?

And congrats on the awesome numbers!

Damn, thats freaking awesome!!! Post the entire map so we can take a look at it. I'd like to see the curve on it!!! Is it pretty responsive?

What size injectors are you running and what is your duty cyc at peak hp? What base fp you running?

You sure you werent spraying nitrous or something lol

Thanks,
Stephen

AWESOME results bro! How many miles did you put on your motor before you tuned her?

As far as your Alternator goes, you need to look how the b/w wire is connected. Look at the attached file.

Now Now TED

Show me a FC3S that has made quite a bit more HP
@ 19-20 PSI then me....using 87-88 GTR engine rotors

Tony 87GTR made 499 with a secondary bridgeport @ 23 PSI
Tearbo2 on the 2nd gen timeslip section
made 540 HP with a Water Intercooler
74mm turbo WITH 9.7 compression rotors
he had to run 25 PSI to get the 540

1FastT2 made 425 RWHP @ 15 PSI
I made 479

Alot of people who have posted some crazy numbers
have run higher compression rotors to get High numbers at low boost

Like Vosko comes to mind

I've been on this forum a LONG time Ted
I read all single and rotary and 2nd gen dyno threads
and compared to all the Dyno sheets/threads over the years that I have read

my Dyno numbers
are up there with the BEST of them
Trust me with ALOT less money

almost all the work and setup on the car was done by Me
not pettit not KDR not ANY fancy shop

a 10x20 shop to be exact

Keep in mind also
My tuner said I could of made more power!
if i did not have a voltage drop @ WOT
Since the Microtech coils work of the cars voltage
you can even hook up a 16V amp to the bosch coils for even better spark

But Hey
I'm happy

He said it on the first post. 93/c16 mix. Anyways, Roger, I told you last night, and I'll say it again. Great job man! I want a ride this weekend if possible. Lets set up a rematch against a certain car I guess I'll be dynoing on Friday then

Fantastic job, Kabooski. Makes me miss the days when I was doing this 5 years ago. The numbers are extremely impressive. It goes to show what a DIY'er can do with enough determination and effourt. It also shows how much power the lower compression rotors can make, too. I've specifically kept the 86-88 ones in my engine for this reason.

On Tony's setup, he hit boost decently quick but I believe the back-end of his turbo was choking him off early. It was a 0.83 A/R divided housing on an undivided manifold. I also believe the compressor was smaller than we may have thought to begin with. The turbine wheel was a proprietary size that slightly larger than that of a Q-Trim. So, while the secondary BP cuts helped him get the larger Q-Trim wheel moving, I think the compressor wheel and turbine housing were ultimately too small and kept him from achieving higher figures.

Here's the turbo measurements of both:

Precision Turbo PT67 2.620" 3.310"
BorgWarner S300 2.420" 3.440"

It seems to me a P-Trim wheel for a 2-rotor is just fine. What size and A/R back housing are you using? This goes to prove how much power these 66+mm turbos can make on a street ported engine. I think it also proves that we don't need cannon-ball sized compressors to produce big figures; with the proper kind of porting for velocity and mods done to maximize that, we don't need to cram as much boost into the motor to make good, solid figures. Well done Kabooski.

I'd also like to know what kind of RPM's you were turning alongside the a/f ratio the MT guy was tuning for w/ the C16. That kind of race gas is GREAT for high-power, isn't it?

Go run some 10's and get it on video! (and DRIVE the car there and BACK just to kill the trailer queens!)

Nice,

Or should I say crazy.

I only put down 408.8rwhp. But the turbo is caput since I can no longer build any real boost. (Turbonetics T04B 60-1 .96a/r .70 P trim hks log)

To bad I'm not closer to your output

I have a new CHRA coming from MJturboshop.com. Great service from them!

Thanks Brian!

The turbo has a .81 undivided V band housing
I think it has a P trim
Maybe a GTQ? can't tell since the previos owner of the turbo did not know

RPM run was only upto 7300 RPM
but the 520 was reached at 6890 RPM!

MaX Torque was 415.2

I need to install a cage and do some other stuff
before I hit the track

But I ran 7.5 in the 1/8 with 420 HP with a 1.85 60' foot
on DR's

will switch to ET streets soon
which when I borrowed a pair I cut a 1.61 60' foot
but the clutch I was using slipped so never got a good run in

Now using ACT HD Plate with clutchnet 4 puck sprung
and ACT street light flywheel and the combo is working great!

FPR was set at 42 PSI static

BTW My tuner said I would be fine running 93
I only added a Mix of C16 for my own peace of mind....hehe
