Intercooler question?

What do you guys think of a Horizontial Mount Intercooler with signle turbos? I've seen a few pictures and think they look good. Anybody have any thoughts or opinions about them and how they work or know anyone who has had one? I hear that in Japan there common. Thanks guys.

I was actually planning to do that. Just make sure you use the right ducting.

I was planning on that instead of a FMIC because I always crach into trees and innocent pedestrians.

Peace

I think the major concern would be getting proper airflow.
Here are some of my thoughts:
Benefits:
- doesn't block radiator --> keeps engine cooler
- less intercooler piping --> less turbo lag; easier to pipe
Disadvantages:
- harder to get good airflow to
- can't fit a HUGE ic for super high boost levels

What about a horizontal mount IC but below instead of above the rad? That's how one of the top drag racers (a honda?) does it.

If there is room to do it in an FD's engine bay, then there is room to do it in an FC's. That's my moto

As I understand it air flow is not as big of a problem as most people think. But I'm no expert. Just by what I've read. I e-mailed SR and hopefully I get a response some time soon. When I do I'll let you guys know about it.
