i have a 87 rx7 N/A. i want to make it a turbo. what would you recommend? getting a bolt on kit, or dropping a tII engine in it? and if you say a bolt on kit, what is a cheap good turbo kit? and if you say turbo tII enine swap, whats the cheapest i could get a tII engine for? thanks for your help

 

Getting the TII engine, tranny and ECU is probably your best bet. It is cheaper and the motor is designed for a turbo. You can probably get the TII setup for between $1200 - 1500.

 

i know of this place that will sell one used, but its warranteed for like 800-900$ so im gonna try there. and i hear the stock turbo for the engine is tiny, so what would be a good turbo upgrade, and how much? i heard some pretty good things about the T-04E or something.

www.fc3s.org sells j-specs...around 30-40k. $950.00 for a S4 TII engine. A TII engine would be your best bet...they don't make a "bolt on" turbo kit for n/a RX-7's like they would for a civic or something. Though you can bolt a turbo up to any engine with the skill. I believe Aaron Cake has a 6port 13B turbo. I myself am going to do a TII motor in my '86 gxl. You'll need the TII trans, driveline, rearend (axles too) to do it all reliable and the right way. I already have lsd in the rear...so I'm gonna just get the motor, trans, driveline (it should mate to my rear end I believe), ecu and harness. I NEED BOOSTTTTT......
