Arrow I need help choosing a turbo

My goal is 400rwhp from my 88 T2. I'm using a street ported 89+ motor and I'll either be running a Haltech or the new AEM with all of the supporting hardware ofcourse. This will be a street car (not a daily) so drivability is important.
I'd like to know what Turbo I should go with. I've been thinking TO4, but wich one? What other options should I look at?

Thanks,
Mike

Get a 60-1 To4 with a .70 front, 1.15 rear and P trim blade.

Best overall turbo for a street car ever.

Agreed... but appended. Best over all turbo for a street car 2 rotor

Thanks for the suggestion guys. Even though my goal is 400 rwhp what kind of power can this turbo support. I usually have a hard time leaving things alone. I may need more after a while.

Thanks,
MIke

When you say a T04 what does this mean exactly? There are T04B,E,S etc. Does the A/R of the the compressor housing designate these different specs? ie. a T04B is 0.6 A/R, T04E is 0.7 A/R, etc?
I have never been sure on this.
Thanks.

definitly not

T04B is one 'family'
T04E is another 'family'

both are available in 0.60 and 0.70 a/r compressor housings etc

on this forum most people from the US when talking about a T04E are refering to the spec of T04E that comes in the kit from XS Engineering - i think its them anyway

What kind of boost will I need to run to make 400rwhp with this set up?

Thanks,
Mike

I would have to agree, that turbo is one of the best if not "the" best option for you.

I use a T04B, with H trim compressor in a 0.7 compressor cover with cast steel backing plate, along with a P trim turbine in a 1.32 rear housing.

From 5000 to 8500 rpm you will not find another combination that will deliver the same performance for such a low price, the best thing is that they are very cheap to rebuild when the time comes unlike a ball bearing unit.

I make 500bhp (take youre guess in rwhp?) on a "street port" 13B @ 8200rpm on 1 bar boost.
