How to do a AN braided Oil Drain line?

I've got a S5 Turbo and a S4 front cover and I only have S5 Oil drain lines so they don't work.

I'm thinking of fabbing AN lines.

Will this work on the stock S5 turbo?

Then is it about a foot of -10AN or a different size?

I don't have an adapter plate for the front cover. Any thoughts?

I was hoping I could cut it about an inch from the mouting point and tap some threads into it.

Then scrwe in the other side of the AN line.

Also I am totally not familiar with AN stuff. Do you have to get the hose precut or can you cut it? Then how do you get the metal connector pieces on?

Thx.

Will that T3/4 flange thing work on my front cover as well? They seem to be the same size.

Thx

I dunno about your FC stuff but on my FD i used that same adapter to my ~12 fitting with a male end, then to my 6-8" braided SS line with a straight female hose end going up and a 45 going to the block. On the block i have the stock oil return with a ~12 welded onto it with the other side connected to that. I'm not sure how much that helps you out but you miht get somewhere.

OK I'm still doing this.

I bought 2 ft of SS line. and the connectors with
a plug which is 8AN to 3/8th's

Do you think this will work. It says it's for T3/T4's.

If it connects to my turbo then it should work on my front cover since they are the same size.

It says it is a 1/2 NPT size. I'm running 3/8th and I think 8AN so I shoudl probably get a reducer.

Any thoughts?

What connection are you using that uses the 3/8ths/-8, i would guess that was kinda small, i used a -8 before my -12 and i saw alot of smoke before the change. Also what size connecters did you buy if it is -8 i would suggest going with a larger hose, due to teh fact that the return is under very little presure it needs to be larger enough that it doesnt back up. I would go with a -10 or 12 if i were you.

well i got those T3/4 flanges. They are 1/2 inch threaded.

I also started to think about that sizing.

I am going to the performance store again Friday to get a 90` bend and I think I will upgrade the AN hose to -10 and get some 1/2inch to -10an adapters.
