do you really need this big of a fuel system? 550/1680 with a walbro or Supra pump should be good to 400whp

The short answer is yes, i used the big screw clamps and 1 1/2 years no problems.

Ive got 300whp atm with factory injectors and 10psi so the only thing holding me back is fuel. I also want to do my fuel system now, do it once and do it right with room to improve.

I pulled my pump out today to see what model it was (previous owner installed it and told be it was an Airtex pump) and found that its actully just a walbro.
Has the following numbers on it...
18606-3
PAT 4500270 5421306.
its 39mm dia
Is this one of the 255L pumps?

I have now got the following parts:
Primary rail
1600cc sec injectors
Factory 850cc primaries
Modified Primary rail with -6 fittings
FPR
All required fittings for the firewall foward
A spare fuel pump cradle to modify to hold the twin pumps
One walbro now

So next on the list is to buy another walbro....or two if the one I have is not up to par, modify the cradle to hold the pumps and an extra through pipe, sort out the filters, wire up two relays for the pumps, work out how much -6 braided line I need and connect all the dots

One thing I have overlooked is the fuel filters. Would it be ok to run two factory replacment filters or will I need to go to a higher flow filter/s?

So, guys, is it really necessary to run 2 fuel pumps? I mean how much HP do you have to make before you say "I need 2 pumps and all the hose ect." ??

I am curious because I am running stock fuel system right now except for an Aeromotive FPR and Walbro 255 lph fuel pump. I have my stock regulator still hooked up, but do not have it hooked to vacuum, but have the fuel line going from the stock regulator into the Aeromotive FPR, then exiting from there back to the tank. I haven't started my car yet with this setup. Do you think it will work?
