Holset HX52 on stock ports?

I was looking into GT35R alternatives. Coming up short on the FD side of things but have been reading/searching on the use of Holset turbos on FC's.

Anyone care to point me in the right direction or have additional input?

HX52 is going to be much bigger then a gt35. Look into a Holset HX40 or a H1e (older version of HX40) with a 19cm2 exhaust housing. Either of those turbos should be good for 450whp on high boost and around 400whp on 15psi.

There really isn't anything in the Holset line up the really compares exactly to a GT35, but these would you closest option.

Contact these guys and tell them what you want.

Should be able to get a freshly rebuilt used turbo for around $600.

Yea a hx40 w/ a 19+ housing would do you in real nice. make 400hp EASY, and before 4k you will be at full boost slideways

Yea, that's a good point. These turbos come on like jackhammers. When they spool they go from 1psi to whatever within a few hundred RPM and shred tire. So don't hit it in the middle of a corner.

there fairly similar. ive had/road/driven both. the gt comes on and floats, the holset is just like when the bull gets out of the stable at a bull riding contest.

I have a half bridge motor with a 18cm hx52 in my fc. It spools around 4300 rpms 17psi. It is a good size turbo. And friend has hx40 17cm on a re stock ports and likes it alot. Plenty capable of 400hp+

sorry to RE-DIG the thread from the dead.

Im not on a large street ported non-doweled.

Debating on T04R or HX52...both available to me for relatively same price if I do go forward in the direction of keeping my car.

Any further suggestions hopefully from FD owners.

Honestly was looking for 400-450ish on low boost (cali 91 )

anyhow, its back on that fc again and it just made 415 at 15lbs, the turbo is a beast when it comes in and will pull like a freight train.

A HX52 might be pushing it on stock ports unless you dont care if it spools at 5k rpm. Lol
But in my experience as well as many others the HX40 is great for stock or mildly ported engines, full boost around 3500rpm. A divided manifold helps alot with spool time also.
