HKS boost controllers
Well I'm shopping for a boost controller. I know alot of people have had success with the greddy boost controllers, but I've found a deal on this HKS EVC EZ 2. It's an outdated model, so I'm wondering if it will bo ok with a T-78.
The all new HKS EVC EZ II offers the same accuracy and consistency given by an electronic boost controller, but with the simplicity of a manual boost controller. The EVC EZ II can be upgraded to a full EVC unit by simply adding an EVC Display unit.
Do you think it will work? Imput would be greatly appreciated.

The EZII is not an outdated model, its the second version of the original EZ controller from HKS. It's basically the EVC5 without the other fancy display/logger that adds that extra $240, same controller, same solenoid. I use it on my TO4E and it works great, simple and functional, I don't need a light show to control my boost.

They didn't test the EVC EZ II, but the orginal EZ wasn't very impressive in this test:

" Boost control not as good as a ball-valve"
""be careful with the dial." Otherwise, fine."
"There's no mention in the one and a half pages of English instructions about problems using the EZ on cars with minor boost creep, but it sure doesn't seem to like it"
hmm seems like the dial is super sensative..
Whats a ball valve boost controller?

i use the same type of boost controller able iberra uses. it works as good or better then any ebc ive seen. only downside is you have to manually adjust the boost for large temperature changes (about 2 times a year) not a big deal to me for rock solid dependable boost.
the unit i use specifically is the turboxs dshpbc. able uses a variation of the dshpbc (it just incorporates a 3rd stage for his different boost settings)
the hpbc is exactly the same as the first stage of the dshpbc. Personally i have yet to setup the second stage on mine :P
