hesitation with boost
I just finished a gt35/40 install along with 1700cc secondaries and SX regulator. I am runnig a Power FC. I have maps from a reliable source that I was gonna use for base tunning. The problem I am having is that whenever I go into boost the engine starts to stumble. I am good till aobut 2-3psi then it just does not want to go anywhere. I just want the car running enough so that I can tune it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Grant

It sounds to me like you are either way too rich or way too lean. You are just going to have to keep making fuel adjustments until you can get the car to run good enough to do some fine tuning. I have had personal experience with a few maps that were supposed to be reliable base maps and turned out to be way too rich or way too lean. I have only messed with haltech and microtech, so make sure you are not overlooking something in the PFC software.

Just got my car tuned and before that it had pretty much the same problems. Got it on the dyno and found out the fuel regulator wasn't set right. First run, not enough fuel. Found the fuel filter clogged, ran pretty good, but not enough fuel pressure. Found out that the fuel pump sock(like a filter) was clogging the fuel line at full throttle. Took off the sock and full power to the car. The combination of the regulator, fuel filter and sock that caused my problem. Could be your too. My tuner said the rx7 needs plenty of fuel and he was right!!! Good luck!

I dpubt that any of those is my problem. I have replace my fuel pump with a bosch unit and have a new sx FPR. I will try increase the FPR to see if fuel is my problem.

Grant, I have went through this stumble issue also. I had no power, lots of backfiring. I thought it was lean also but when I datloged with the wideband I seen how pig rich I was. I started to pull fuel a little bit at a time and finally I got to the point wher it would pull clean tp 9000 RPM. I am fine tuning fuel now and the misfires are gone and I still am in the high 10`s AFR.
Some of these maps only work on the car they came off. I would reaterd the timing a bit and check Your AFR, and bet You are rich.

I am running the stock fuel pressure (30psi at idle, 38psi when connector is jumped). I am positive I am not running lean because I am getting knock reading in the 13-22 range with my PFC when it occurs. It sounds like I just gotta get my butt in gear and assemble my DIY wideband before I deem this problem as being something complicated.
Thanks
Grant.
