Hello, still pretty new to the forum and would like to get more into it. I am planning to make 350-400 whp. Earlier this year I pulled the engine out of the car, tore it down, checked everything and ported the exhaust ports using the RB streetable template. I came here for some advice on selecting an ideal turbo for my application and power goals. Looking do a couple track days and maybe some drag racing. If anyone has any advice or suggestions i would love to here it! Thanks

 

I was about to post a similar question. I'm also looking for an answer to this! I'm concerned with engine health as well (I've heard that single turbos are easier on the rotary engine than the twins).

 

How much do you want to spend?
if money is no object then without a doubt, the borg warner EFR turbo's are the ones to go with..
If you dont want to spend that much then a BW S360/300 would be a good choice, or a garret gt35r or similar would work well.
I made 350 rwhp and over 300ft/lb torque at 4.7k rpm on 12.4psi of boost with the plane jane borg warner S360 which is pretty good bang for buck. In my case boost and torque drops off as RPM rises due to having no boost controller and the gates being fully open.. but if i held even that same torque/boost for a couple thousand more rpm id be well into the lower-mid 400's with the same boost pressure. tis a pretty good budget option

 

If you're on a budget that allows for an EFR, do it. You'll never look back. The 7670 will hit that power goal very well, and will offer that "20B Mid Range" that all the EFR guys are giddy over. If you plan of making more power, an 8374 would be just right, 450-500HP-ish.

an S362 is a good option that's a thousand dollars or more cheaper than the EFR.
