Help identify this Garrett Turbo!

A forum member wants to trade this turbo for some wheels that I have. I really do not need a turbo right now, but one day I want to put in a GT35R. He claims that this is the equivalant of the GT35R.

I do not know enought about turbos or Garrett to know what it is. Thoughts? Can someone verify that this is a ball-bearing equivalant of a GT35R.

Thanks!

It may be hard to read, but I believe this is what is on the nameplate:

BKK 22788 (?)
408108 - 5285

And how can I ell if it is ball bearing?

Anyone?

Its not ball bearing. Its not a Gt35R either. Its a 57 or 60 trim To4E mated to a P trim turbine wheel, oil cooled only. On-center turbine housing( don't use that unless you have to, usually adds 500-1000rpms more lag in my experience).

Generally Gt35R(s) come in the bigger To4S compressor housing( 4" in / 2.5" out). Although they can be stuffed into To4E housing( pictured above, 3" in 2" out). All Garrett BB turbos are water cooled, easiest way to spot them. They were will be two threaded holes on the bearing housing.

Ancient turbo being an on-centre, nobody makes them now.

And yeah, some old T04E undivided job.

Probably the worst combo for spool possible.

Someone claiming this is something it so hugely isnt is wrong IMO, ripoff

Something to add to this is that, the on-center turbine housing design will not fit on 90% the FD manifolds out there...
