trying to deliberate whether to go for a bigger exhaust housing.....would there be a big difference between .84 and .96.,.........in terms of spool time and power?

yes.
imo I don't think you want less than .81 a/r on a fd
spool time can be manipulated by tuning, along with porting and other things.

Dan my injectors didn't arrive in time so I won't be taking the t51r to the dyno tomorrow
I'll be taking the to4r instead sulk.
